Quan Jing woke up again three days later, feeling warm all over as the morning sunlight fell on his body.
He propped himself up on his hands but his body swayed, and his head felt dizzy and darkened, so he steadied himself.
"Young Master, you've awakened. Please lie back down," Quan An entered from outside, holding a tray in his hands, and quickly placed it on the table before coming to assist Quan Jing back into a reclining position.
Quan Jing grasped his wrist, feeling the warmth, and asked blankly, "I'm not dead?"
"Ptui, ptui. Young Master, don't speak such ominous words. You are safe and sound now. It's said that a great misfortune avoids leading to future blessings," Quan An spat twice, and as he spoke, laughter broke through and his eyes reddened.
