CHAPTER 117: HE ALREADY KNOWS
James watched the entire scene unfold with a murderous gaze, and the air around him seemed to drop by ten degrees. It was a live feed, and he had walked in just in time to see them plotting against him, a palpable chill filling the air.
He knew they must have made other plans because he had tuned in just in time to hear them discuss their plan to target Diana with Margauex mentioning something about needing Diana to plan the biggest party she'd ever thrown.
Although he didn't catch all the details, he was certain they were talking about his wife. His blood ran cold.
Without hesitation, he initiated a conference call with his trusted men—Angelo, Antonio, his friends and Diana's driver, Leonard.
They all picked up simultaneously, and James quickly laid out the new developments. "Everyone, listen up," he began, his voice low and menacing. "They're planning something." He relayed the details of their conversation, his words laced with a deadly calm".
"I need everyone on high alert. Find out exactly what they're planning" he ordered. "And put a 24/7 watch on my wife. I want every detail covered,".
The men nodded, their faces grim. "Yes, boss," they acknowledged before the call ended.
Turning to Jared, he said, "Find out more about our new client and report back to me." Then, addressing Angelo, he continued, "Keep a close eye out—any small slip-up, and I want to know immediately."
"Yes, Chairman," Angelo agreed before disconnecting.
"Harry," James said, turning to his friend, "how far have you gone man, what have you found?"
"Not much yet, but I'm working on it," Harry replied. He paused, then added curiously, "But whatever experiments they did on you, it's clear they didn't affect your reproductive organs."
"What do you mean by that?" James questioned sharply.
"I'll explain in more detail when we meet," Harry responded.
"So, what are you going to do about your father's sisters?" Victor asked him gently.
"I'm leaving that for Jared to handle, and if he can't, I'll take care of it myself—in my own way and the only way i know how".
The men swallowed. They all knew what that meant.
"Seriously?" Jared asked, surprised. "You're really trusting me to handle this?"
"Yes, Jared. Do you have a problem with that?" James countered.
"No, bro. I'll make sure I do a good job so you won't be disappointed," Jared promised.
"That's what I like to hear," James replied.
At that moment, Diana walked in. Seeing James engrossed in a phone call, she turned to leave, but his voice stopped her.
"Don't go."
Diana turned back, raising a brow. "Aren't you busy on a call?"
"The call isn't important," he responded dismissively.
Meanwhile, on the other end, the men were all stunned. *Not important?* they thought in unison.
"That's it for now, guys. Goodnight," James said abruptly and hung up before anyone could respond.
He held out an arm to her, and Diana walked into his embrace, settling onto his lap. James wrapped one arm securely around her waist while his other hand rested gently on her stomach. His head leaned against her chest as he drew comfort from her presence. Diana draped her arms around his neck and rested her cheek on his head.
