"One day, our fate suddenly changed as we were greeted with the great apocalypse,"
"More than half of the world were mutated into mindless zombies within minutes, while rest took shelter in wherever they found safe,"
"That's exactly what happened in my past 10 years ago, and now fate is repeating itself,"
Ash muttered to himself as he stood at the top of a crooked building, watching the rampage going on.
The city which was once peaceful had erupted into chaos days ago with its civilians taking shelter or running around.
The grounds had torn open across various parts of the city, making easy movements of vehicles impossible.
After taking the last gulp of water from the bottle in his hand, Ash breathed out heavily.
"That was refreshing, thank you," he tossed the bottle away as he thanked Rika who appeared beside him.
"No problem," the teenage girl stood close to him and replied with a faint smile that settled on her lips.
Her hands were in the pocket of her black hoodie which had white inscriptions on the arms.
Her vista blue hair was up in a ponytail and despite the fact that the apocalypse was going on, she didn't fail to dress in expensive taste.
She had taken some weapons from their ammunition and the gun and knife were strapped to her thighs with strap belts.
They were both still conversing when a loud sound that resembles an explosion occurred nearby.
They immediately turned to the area it came from and saw an armored truck drive out of a smoke screen.
"Keep it steady," David yelled out to Jared who was driving the vehicle.
"If you wanna drive, come take the wheel," Jared replied angrily. "And stop giving me orders," he turned around to make sure he was heard amidst all the shooting.
"Hey watch it!" Diva alerted him as the vehicle was approaching a large hole by the end of the road.
"I can see it!" He also yelled at her.
"Hey, can y'all be careful... About everything," Sinon added.
She was looking pale due to the rough driving and was barely holding on.
"Sit yourself there, young lady, what is this, a picnic? You gotta have a strong gut like mine," Jared responded shortly after taking another turn to avoid the hole.
Ash stood up in the building watching them escape the hordes of zombies that trailed behind.
Ash noticed Rika sitting at the edge of the building next to where he stood, looking at the team.
"You sure you don't want to join them in their training?," Ash asked trying to figure out why she decided to stay back.
"No, thank you," she replied instantly.
"But it's a team training,"
"I know and I'm not interested,"
"Why? You're part of the team you know." Ash asked again.
"Well..." She paused a bit and gritted her teeth before turning to face him.
"I want you to train me,"
For a second Ash thought he didn't hear her well but he reconfirmed he heard right.
Shocked by the request, Ash stood there speechless as they both stared at each other.
"Um... Why?"
"What? Can't I ask you to train me?" Rika looked up at him in confusion.
"That's not what I meant but group training would help you more." Ash pointed out and then again he thought she might be terrified of the zombies.
Like she got what he was thinking, she replied. "I'm not scared. I just want a personal training first."
"I'll think about it." He squatted next to her and patted her head which looked cute.
Once again, their attentions were pulled back to those training by loud gunshots.
"They seem to be doing ok," he murmured to himself. "David's grip on the gun seems to have improved, following Gareth,"
"Although Jared's rough drive may be what they need, he needs to be careful before something-" Ash's eyes widened as he noticed what was in front of them.
"Please dial it down a bit," Sinon complained as she held on to the driver's seat with her whole body trembling.
Maybe it was a bad idea training with them. She could have just stayed back with Rika and Ash. She wasn't used to this zombie stuffs at all.
As Jared took another turn down the street Ash had marked for them, they were faced with a large number of zombies, making him hit the brakes instinctively.
This sudden stop caused Sinon, who let her guard down to fly out of the vehicle through the windshield and crashed hard on the ground.
Shocked by the sudden accident, the team exclaimed.
"Ohh damn,"
"Are you ok?"
"Sinon!!"
Diva quickly rushed out of the vehicle to help her up as she lay on the ground grunting out in pain.
"Did…I die? Please tell me… I did." Sinon whispered and Diva wanted to burst out laughing but she held it.
"Guys hurry up, they're coming," David yelled out the moment he saw the zombies rushing towards them.
"They're also coming from the front," Gareth added.
"It's ok girl, I've got you," Diva assisted her in getting inside the vehicle.
Immediately they were in, both Gareth and David started firing their gun rapidly at the zombie, getting headshots and destroying limb after limb.
Jared search with his eyes for an open route to take but he couldn't find any.
"Damn it," he grunted as he brought out his weapon and started firing at the zombies too.
"You're supposed to be driving," Diva called out to him as he stuck himself out of the driver's window.
"There's no way out. The zombies are all over, they'll surround us at this rate," he explained.
"Seriously? What are we gonna do then?" Gareth asked anxiously.
"Over there," he pointed towards a path crowded with zombies. "If we can create a path there, we will be able to escape before we run out of ammo,"
"Damn it, I'm out," David said as his gun finally ran out of ammo.
"We have to be efficient. Here, take my gun," Jared tossed his gun to David before getting into the vehicle.
He immediately stepped on the gas and charged the vehicle toward the zombies as both Gareth and David fired endlessly.
"This is seriously a bad idea." Sinon's upper teeth grazed the lower ones in fear.
Whenever they needed to reload their weapons, Diva would be quick enough to hand them a spare.
Soon, they charged into the mob of zombies. Several were shot off the way with blood splashing all over, while the rest were hit and crushed by the armored vehicle.
Jared drove into the path he showed them earlier and soon, they were out in the open street again.
"Looks like we made it," Gareth let out a sigh shortly after the vehicle stopped.
He immediately brought out a grenades, pulled the pin and tossed it to the front of the path they opened.
As the zombies rushed towards them, the grenade exploded scattering body limbs and blood all over.
The explosion took out majority of the zombies but also attracted more from the sound it made.
"You're supposed to use more of them to close down the path," David corrected as he brought out two more grenades.
After pulling off the rings from them, he threw them to opposite buildings where the previous explosion occurred.
They all watched the path get closed off from the collapsed building.
"That was nerve wrecking," David spat out.
"I know right?" Gareth agreed as they both gave themselves a high five.
"Well well well, I'd say excellent work but... One of your team mate would have been severely wounded or killed," Ash said as both him and Rika walked closer to them in the armored vehicle.
"Hey Ash,"
They happily got out of the vehicle and stood next to him. Diva held on to Sinon who seemed to be in better shape than earlier.
"You'll have to throw me in the midst those zombies if you want me to fight them. They are terrifying." Sinon gritted her teeth and Rika couldn't help but giggle.
"Yo! Did you see my shooting?" Gareth asked as he walked over to Ash's side. "It was dope right?"
"Yeah, you did nice," Ash smiled as he complimented him.
"All of you did better than I expected,"
They were all overjoyed to hear him praise them on something they wouldn't have known how to do days back.
"Oh yeah!"
"Totally worth it,"
"We rock!! Watch out zombies, we're coming for ya," Jared said as he screamed into the air.
"However, now's not the time to be celebrating," Ash cut their celebration short with an unexpected news.
"What will you do about this?" He asked as he took out a remote from his pocket and pressed it.
Several speakers that were carefully placed in the streets began to ring out a barring noice one after the other.
One so loud that all the zombies around the areas began to follow the sounds like a trailing pattern.
Several streets around them that were somehow linked together started to echo with a loud sound as they zombies chased after the moving sound.
Soon, the ground underneath them started to shake, glasses nearby began to shatter and next, several hordes of zombies came into view.
"You've got to be kidding me. Ash!!" Sinon yelled in horror. "What are we supposed to do?" She had thought that they were done for today.
"Survive!" Ash whispered to them before smirking devilishly, then he entered a nearby building, with the doors closing behind him and Rika.
