Over the years, Pokémon have continually expanded, with Magikarp being a prime example. They've already become the "native species" that is present everywhere.
Even beyond the Four Seas and the Grand Line, Magikarp have now appeared in inland rivers and lakes. However, the calmer the waters, the lower the chance they'll evolve into Gyarados, and overall, their strength tends to be weaker.
Besides Magikarp, Heracross was the second Pokémon released in large numbers. Over the years, these Heracross have also adapted to their environments and begun settling across various islands.
The vitality and adaptability of Bug-types is well known. Given that, the time has come to further increase the Pokémon population.
Bug-types, known for their strong reproductive abilities, remain the top choice. Despite seeming fragile, they integrate into nature at a surprisingly fast rate.
The large butterflies look very cute. Their bodies are primarily black and gray, and unlike typical flying insects with compound eyes, their compound eyes have bright blue pupils full of energy and life.
The wings on their backs are adorned with yellow patterns, along with multicolored markings. Each butterfly's wings are a rare work of art.
The Butterfly Pokémon — Beautifly. It may look adorable, but they have a surprisingly aggressive nature that contrasts with their delicate appearance.
Their coiled mouthparts are essential tools for gathering nectar and pollen, and also serve as their primary weapons in combat.
Although they tend to be aggressive in nature, Beautifly are quite easy to get along with, as long as you don't bother them while they're eating.
They also have a greedy side. Wild Beautifly will certainly drive all the Combee out of a garden and monopolize the entire garden for themselves.
The Beautifly earlier claimed that it had reached an agreement with the Combee, but that was only because this is Wano Country, and Arceus lives here, which is the only reason different species maintain a relative harmony.
As for the Bisharp and Tinkaton...
Truthfully, things are already quite peaceful; when these two species meet in the wild, it's usually a brutal life-or-death struggle.
Watching the fluttering butterflies, Yamato extended one arm, and two Beautifly sensed her intentions, landing directly on her arm.
"Are you two a pair?"
"Beau~tifly~"
One Beautifly, whose wings had larger red dots, waved its small arms. This is a typical feature of their species, males have larger red markings on their wings.
Before they could respond, another purple Pokémon flew over.
Compared to Beautifly, its appearance didn't fit conventional aesthetics — its yellow compound eyes bore three black dots, and its green wings had patterns designed to intimidate predators.
The Poison Moth Pokémon — Dustox. It is actually nocturnal, but recently monsoon winds have begun blowing outside Wano Country. To ride the wind for migration, they've started appearing during the daytime.
Despite their drastically different appearances, Beautifly and Dustox share the same starting form: Wurmple.
When they reach the proper level, Wurmple evolve randomly into either Silcoon or Cascoon.
Silcoon evolves into Beautifly, while Cascoon evolves into Dustox. The evolution path is completely random — one of the great mysteries of Pokémon evolution.
Dustox actually tends to have a more easygoing personality than Beautifly. However, since they're Poison-types, the dust on their bodies contains harmful toxins. Provoking them is much more troublesome than Beautifly.
After briefly interacting with them, Yamato waved and released them. She still had preparations to make before departure, like investigating the diary issue.
She still couldn't understand why Oden's diary held such an overwhelming allure.
Yamato herself wasn't the type to enjoy writing diaries or logbooks. She only recorded things she found interesting.
But in Wano Country, there really were people who devoted themselves to writing diaries.
Kuri.
Yamato planned to consult Setsuna about some diary-related matters, who is known as the "pioneer of diary-keeping" in the Beasts Pirates. Within the entire Beasts Pirates, she was the only one who had persistently kept a diary.
An entire box and a drawer full of diaries was proof of that.
But here, Yamato encountered an unexpected Pokémon.
"Is that Regice? What's it doing here?"
In Zeraora's home, she saw Regice hibernating in a corner. Its aura was so restrained that, without careful perception, one would mistake it for a crystal stone.
By rights, Regice's body should contain the power of extreme cold, yet now that cold has been retracted deep into its core. Even touching its surface wouldn't cause any harmful effects.
"It said Lord Arceus hasn't given it any assignments for now, so it plans to sleep for a few months. It said this place is quite comfortable for sleeping.
I don't really understand its thinking. Meowna and Wolff arguing gives me a headache, and yet it likes to stay here."
Zeraora couldn't comprehend Regice's logic and eventually just chalked it up to the whims of a "rock."
"Where's Sister Setsuna?"
Within the Beasts Pirates, seniority is a complete mess; basically, everyone goes by their own rules, and no one bothers over it. Titles like "Big Bro" and "Big Sis" are thrown around everywhere.
Among pirates, what mattered was strength, not age. Jack, though only 26, still earned respectful titles like "Big Bro Jack" from many who were in their forties or fifties. At some point, these titles stopped meaning anything concrete.
In all this, Queen was the exception. He was the only senior officer Yamato addressed as "uncle."
This was simply because he looked overly old-fashioned, so ironically, Queen ended up being one of the few Yamato viewed as her elder.
"She's working on Zou Island, but she's off today. She should be back soon."
Among the Dukes throughout Zou Island's history, Setsuna was the strongest. The power granted by Arceus to communicate with Zunesha was truly one of a kind. She was also the first to treat the throne as a job, working six days a week with one day off. Unless there were intruders, nothing could interfere with her clocking out.
And anyone who did interfere with her clocking out... usually died in a very rhythmic fashion.
Before long, Setsuna returned home riding a Millennial Dragon.
"So damn annoying. Those people really don't care about their lives, can you believe it? Someone actually dared to fire cannons at Zunesha."
The moment she got back, Setsuna started venting about her recent experience.
If Roger had kicked off the Great Pirate Era, then this was now the Chaotic Era. Aside from the endless stream of rookie pirates flooding the seas, the powerful criminals who escaped from Impel Down were another major problem.
Blackbeard was dead, but many Level 6 prisoners were still at large. These guys had some strength, and having been in prison so long, they seemed to have forgotten what true terror was.
"Well, they've certainly got guts."
"Not just guts, they're stupid. Apparently, they're trying to find intel on Lindbergh so they can use him to bargain with the World Government. They don't even stop to consider whether they've the skills for it."
