Chapter 5 - Dancing with death

Bardeelus had pulled a decent plan together, within seconds even, which made it all the more impressive. He knew what to expect from the beginning, figured out when to react, and now he posed a great threat against those beasts!

The main risk he took was packed with opportunities. He resurrected that boar which he killed recently, and things could've gone very badly from that point, but thankfully his predictions were correct.

This boar was very receptive towards his commands, as if it had switched teams. It wasn't hostile towards Bardeelus, and now, it charged against its own kind too!

The tides of battle changed drastically because of this obedience. Those six other boars were caught by surprise, and they were easily knocked down for that same matter!

"Hehe!" He celebrated from afar.

Seconds later though, he couldn't help but feel bad for these animals. Based on their racing heartbeats, he could sense how distressed each boar was, emotionally!

They were smart enough to feel emotions, due to their herd-oriented instincts; This only made the occasion all the more gruesome. Bardeelus felt bad that he was making them fight one another, but this was the only method to his disposal, which guaranteed Audera's survival.

He needed these beasts to be distracted for at least a little while, or else they'd be on an unstoppable, bloody rampage!

Anyway, once such mayhem was unleashed, he yelled out. "Run, you disabled monkey, right now! We'll meet back at our spot!"

He taunted the lady with her recent failure, which was unnecessary but he couldn't resist. When one fell out of a tree, that wasn't the bravest story to tell back home, and they both knew that well.

Within the crew, this joke could go on for a while. Right now, however, Audera's luck became a highlight which shadowed her embarrassment.

Not only did she avoid getting trampled by those horned-boars, but she also got a second serving of unconditional help!

Two other people, or so to say, what was left of the crew, came down here and dragged her away from danger. Kutal was carrying that one traitor on his shoulder. Their contribution was perfectly timed, so at this point, things couldn't have gone any better for someone who just fell off of a tree!

Bardeelus was happy but at the same time, he was aware that the battle did not end yet. The situation could become dire within seconds, so he walked towards the warzone, and tried to formulate the rest of the plan.

"Okay… now I need to help all of them." He thought.

The boar which he commanded a moment ago was dead, and this in particular, could be the birth of more problems if he didn't take action now. Relatively, he could not resurrect this same boar again, as he didn't feel as much ownership over its corpse any longer!

This frustrated him a little bit, but he submitted to some harsh realities. "No point in reviving that fucker anyway, not as useful now. Its friends probably turned its hairy butt into a fishing net by now, gross..."

He was right, of course. That resurrected boar managed to kill two of its own herd, but it couldn't go past that point. The biggest members of the herd had taken action, and bashed the life out of their hostile friend ~ The three-foot long horns which these beasts sported, helped do the trick!

Now, these four remaining boars were angry, able-bodied, and they were equipped to pour their anger on anything that breathed!

Bardeelus had to distract them immediately, so at first he yelled out. "Over here! Meat-sacks, come kill me first!"

His efforts paid off quickly! All four of those massive, two-meter tall boars, started charging towards him within seconds! He even chose a spot across this forest, which was more open and further away from trees, so the boars had an easy target to charge at!

Anyone would believe that he was suicidal, but no, he was just partially stupid. Confidence came side-by-side with dumb decisions, especially in his case, as a person who hadn't felt confident at all, over his twenty-three years of life!

Unlike most dumb people, however, he had a plan, and was hurrying to decide over one thing. "Which one is the fattest…? Pretty hard to guess from here, but I'm picking that one."

The horned-boars were about twenty meters away now, and their ferocity would scare most people down to their core, Bardeelus included. He could see them raging through the woods, bashing whole trees down and creating their own dust cloud along the way as well, but he couldn't chicken out!

These creatures weren't tiny, but surely, they weren't invincible either.

His first move was to taunt the fattest boar, who also conveniently was in the middle of the herd, with a heart attack. He couldn't inflict an actual heart attack, but he could still put enough pressure on any random heart, to stir grave panic!

This little plan worked, as the boar started strolling out of line, which forced two other boars out of balance! One of them tried to prove smarter, and ran in front of the herd, but that was exactly what Bardeelus wanted.

"Haha!" He first celebrated.

Afterwards, without mercy, he killed the fastest one, by blowing its heart up, and its large body crashed right in front of the herd. This, of course, threw every boar off balance, so they all toppled over one another!

Throughout the next half-a-minute, Bardeelus kept flinging his hands around, and killed off each boar, one after the other!

His plan was a stunning success, and it had been pretty crafty too! Some would consider him as a good hunter, and he couldn't wait to receive such honors, but first, there was the matter of getting these four-tons of meat back home.

This part of the job was perhaps the easiest. He decided to resurrect these horned-boars, and just have them walk back to the camp. Resurrected creatures abided his bidding, or in other words, they wouldn't turn hostile unless Bardeelus told them to!

They could walk pretty well, as he had been careful enough to knock them down, without hurting them all that much. He had concocted the perfect plan, regardless of how much stressful waves of threat his butt-cheeks had collected!
