Chapter 299 - Story 29, The Path Of Least Resistance. Chapter 9

"Hmm, hmm, hmm." I hummed to myself happily I worked the farmer's life. Sure, it was menial work, sure it was hard work. But with my internal farm cheat, all the plants I worked with, I could take samples of and make clones that would grow within a couple weeks at most within my internal space.

A herb that took 15 to 20 years on average to fully mature to a harvestable state. Yeah, I could grow the plant in just as many days. So spending this time to stock up on herbs, and not have to worry about any nonsense, would be perfect for my future.

As the fact that I WASN'T an alchemist yet, allowed me to touch the sect's lower-ranked herbs with impunity. And the herbs themselves were plenty dangerous enough to protect themselves from any casual thieves.

Stealing a special herb from it's resting place wasn't so easy in this universe, unlike other cultivation universes for better or worse... Some plants back in my old life, especially mushrooms, could kill a man within minutes of being consumed or something.

Here? I was walking a tight rope of helping a peak Grade 1 Ghostshade Lily remove some Soul Leech's from it's roots. Those Soul Leech's were unranked demon beast's with the ability to 'stealthly' suck the blood, soul, and mental energy from their victims.

But their stealth was very firmly ruined by the fact that they were twice the size of a thumb and glowed stupidly brightly.

"Alright, there you go. Don't poison my very soul or whatever." I muttered with a wry smile at seeing the glowing inverted lily that had blood red petals with black edge's wriggling with the hint of spirituality it had at nearing grade 2.

I stood up and then a deep voice made me jump a bit and I looked over and saw that Core Disciple I saw over the last couple of days as I had been working in the Yin Herb Fields.

"Hmm, you have a talent when it comes to dealing with the more dangerous herbs. You have an interest in becoming an herb farmer?" He more stated then asked.

But still I shook my head and said calmly. "My care of the herbs are a part of my goals yes, but I want to be an alchemist more than anything."

The Core Disciple nodded and then with a flick of his wrist, a small bag flew over to me. "Just as well, here is your payment for the last weeks worth of efforts. Four spirit stones with the half being added due to your work ethic."

My face twitched as after grabbing the bag, that Core Disciple older brother used a movement technique that made him blur with speed and dissapear into the thick mist that filled the Yin Herb Graveyard.

'Alrighty then... Well it's time for me to get a move on. I need to hit up that special bath anyway.' I mused, as after a week. I was cutting it close to having my senior sister Yanyu Hanying finding the treasure and at this point. I had already gotten everything ready to clear all 12 stages of Meridian Clearing.

And then with the ample energy within myself, the Foundation Establishment's 12 levels also woudn't have any bottlenecks or anything. It would just be a game of getting the spiritual energy within myself and breaking through the layers calmly.

So with that I didn't waste anymore time, I made my way quickly over to the hole where the Yin and Yang Mountain Milk pool was leaking just a hint of it's aura but quickly dispersing into the yin filled air.

It was already late in the day, so there wasn't any other disciples roaming this area of the Yin herb graveyard, and hell the yin energy in the area was even thicker due to how close I was to one of the herb grave piles.

But I just pushed on, literally pushing aside some rocks and debris to make an opening into the cave that led to the Yin and Yang Mountain Milk pool.

And as I entered the tunnel, I was reminded of how Mountain Milk formed, and my face twitched at the reminder that just because my senior sister was rather wealthy and didn't care for it.

That didn't mean I didn't need all the wealth I could get! As Mountain Milk formed from thick spiritual energy forming at the base of a hanging stalagmite that was actually a spirit stone, and then over months if not year's. That drop of water would slowly fall down the stalagmite ever so slowly.

Then after all that time, the drop of water would be turned into a drop of Mountain Milk that was filled with the spiritual energy that radiated from the spirit stone stalagmite as well as the gentle essence of the earth.

At the end of the thin tunnel was a small ditch which had the Scarlet Toad Lingshi, which was a Yang attributed grade three spirit plant that was... Horrifically poisonous, but also greatly valued by alchemists due to it's effect in the sweat it would let off being used as an acid solution to burn away impurities in yang-atttributed pills and elixers.

And with the Scarlet Toad Lingshi, and the overwhelming Yin energy from the Herb Graveyard. It was no surprise that the situation perfectly aligned to form the Yin and Yang Mountain Milk which was a dozen times better then normal Mountain Milk.

"But dear immortals... This is going to fucking suck." I grumbled with a sigh as I knew that although I wasn't going to consume even a quarter of this pool to clear all of my Meridian's and wash my body of all impurities.

This was going to hurt... Alot it's not like I had a body refining method either.

'Actually, I really should have picked up a body refining method... But that damned demon didn't have a decent one, and neither could I find a decent one in the Sect Library that's open to Meridian Cultivators.' I mused before sighing and stripping off my clothes.

I put my foot into the Yin and Yang Mountain Milk and I hissed as I could feel a biting sensation wash over my body. As I painfully crawled into the pool of swirling crimson and pale silver liquid.

My body was twitching as it felt like fire and 'ice' ants were gnawing into my body and literally chewing on my bones. As I could literally hear my bone's and joints popping and cracking as they were automatically refined by the Yin and Yang Mountain Milk.

But even then. Even as I felt my body being refined by the heaven and earth treasure... I kept my focuse on the real prize as I continued inhaling the thick spiritual energy within the enclosed cave.

With soft popping noises, my leftover clogged Meridians were expunged and I began filling my seventh Meridian with the qi within my body that was produced by the Everburning Tree of Transcendence.

But something I didn't really account for, was the yang energy also fueling my cultivation in the fire half of my cultivation style of wood feeding fire, and the ashes feeding the wood in turn.

'Ah hell... My spiritual energy is more fire aligned now. I need to upgrade my wood spirit root to compensate soon.' I mused before I wondered if I could get ahold of some kind of good wood treasure to help my wood spirit root.

"No... I will reach Foundation Establishment in but a few weeks at most. And then my wood spirit will evolve naturally. I need to get a beast or spirit fire more than anything as that is going to be a bitch to find." I muttered to myself before I took a breath.

As it was now go time. With that deep breath, I sank my head under the surface of the thick Yin and Yang Mountain Milk.

-

A couple of minutes later, I threw my head above the line of the Yin and Yang Mountain Milk with a heavy exhale of used air, leaving me. "Fucking hell, alright then." I groaned as I felt another set of popping noises ring out.

As the rest of my clogged Meridian's had their contents purified after I had already used the special acupunction method to begin their cleansing method already.

Now it was just a matter of a couple of weeks of feeling the last five Meridians, including the 11-12 hidden Meridian levels before I entered the Foundation Stage.

"Alright... I will take the Scarlet Toad Lingshi, as it would be a waste to leave it here, and Yaoyin could only sell it anyway. I can eventually it it for alchemy at least." I muttered to myself.

Then, after putting some of the Yin and Yang Mountain Milk into a small pool, I had created in my farming space as I wanted to emulate this situation for more to be formed due to my farming space's huge time dilation. I dove back into the Yin and Yang Mountain Milk and down to the Scarlet Toad Lingshi

While also nodding with some joy at the Yin/Yang Mountain Milk counting as a natural treasure that my Farm could produce over time once I got enough spirit stones or even a spirit vein in the farm.

The giant mushroom had a bulbous form, and it earned it's name due to the glowing lava like lines that were veins of the extremely toxic liquid within the Scarlet Toad Lingshi, and if someone touched the extremely thin membrane of the mushroom.

That extremely toxic Yang poison would burn through your skin and enter your veins and meridians, causing a lot of damage, and for Foundation Establishment cultivator's it was a death sentence.

But, seeing as I had been working around herbs for the last month and I had specifically looked up information on this herb to deal with it. I knew that I could just break the rocks that the herb was burrowed into, to take it out and put into my farming space.

After doing so, I heard the farming space's information fill my mind as the Scarlet Toad Lingshi's information hit my mind.

[Scarlet Toad Lingshi- Use- Known for its violent yang nature, it is used to enhance Yang/Fire pills and elixer's or used in poison attacks- Formation time for general use, 30 years- 500 years growth, as the Mushroom will continuously absorb a great amount of yin energy to turn into yang energy over time]

'I can get a lower quality one of them, once every month. A good medium-quality one every three months. And the farm's time dilation will become a bit better when I reach Foundation Establishment anyway. Yeah, that's pretty good.' I thought as I got dressed after absorbing the rest of the Yin-Yang Mountain Milk for the last time.

Now came the fun part... To tell my hot senior sister Yanyo Hanying that I had found this. And that I wanted to share it with her.

And not come off as a creeper who was trying to get into her skirts.

"Maybe I could get her to pay me spirit stones to lower her guard about it?" I mused to myself before I shrugged and headed off to find the green-haired beauty who was likely working in the Yin Herb Graveyard even now.
