Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Humble Beginnings

"There was this guy in the valley, he was buff and looked tough. Well, until that monster ripped him apart. But he managed to kill the monster with his last breath, kinda cool, right?"

An adventurer was telling the story of his adventures to everybody else in the tavern. Many people were interested in his stories because he always got into the most ridiculous situations, one time he and his friend accidentally walked into an abandoned house and they found a ghost that haunted them and only stopped because it laughed for minutes because the adventurer peed his pants.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the tavern, a group of adventurers were discussing their journeys and drinking beer together, a brown haired young man was also sitting with them, his dark blue eyes darted around as he looked around the tavern. He was wearing a neat jacket and brown trousers as he drank beer. His name was Derek Argabon

Derek Argabon, who was an experienced yet young adventurer was among these adventures in the tavern but he wasn't talking much in the conversation, just listening to the others. He looked around and after sipping the last bit of his beer, he got up from his seat and began walking towards the door.

A buff drunked man with black hair was drinking beer until he saw Derek walking towards the door, he was John Deere.

He abruptly stopped drinking beer and looked at Derek, Derek usually doesn't leave without telling him.

"Where ya goin?" Asked a drunked John Deere, he is Derek's current travel buddy. They travelled to several placed over the last two months.

"Going to take a break..." Derek answered as he stretched his arms and continued, "I'm quite sleepy and tired from our journey here, i will be sleeping for some time." He opened the tavern's door and walked out.

The sunlight quickly shone on his tired eyes as he instinctively blocked the light with his arm.

This is what happens when you stay at a tavern for several hours... He muttered to himself walked towards his inn, his eyes now adapted to the sunlight.

Tap! Tap! Tap! The sound of loud footsteps from the staircase could be heard as Zolath walked up the stairs and turned right to a long corridor.

After some walking, he turned to his left and looked at a door with a carving that read, "Room 21." He was about to reach out for the doorknob when he suddenly stopped his movements.

He sensed a dangerous aura flowing out from behind him. He turned around and looked at "Room 20." It looked ordinary but to somebody with a power heart, they could easily sense that something was terribly wrong.

A power heart is a sort of power gained from birth, everybody starts off with a white power heart, me included. The white power heart is by far the most common one due to the fact that it is impossible to get any other type of power heart without the white mana heart because it is the foundation of all power hearts.

The public doesn't actually know of the existence of power hearts, the inquisition of the Church does a good job at hiding their existence. If you don't belong to the church and use a power heart in the public or Infront of a church member then you will be hunted down and killed by the inquisition because they consider using a power heart without the permission of God is blasphemous.

Each power heart is classified by it's purity and color. Purity is the level of power that the power heart contains, color is what type of power heart it is. For example, a yellow power heart has more control light based abilities than the rest of the power hearts. There are also user unique abilities like King Augustus who is a orange power heart (fire type) gaining control over lava or magma. But these user unique are getting more and more common because you get power hearts from either luck, hard work, or genetics/bloodline. This is why the Augustus royal family has stronger orange power hearts than the other families. But power hearts can still use other elements at a weaker degree.

But power hearts still have it's limitations and downsides. Power heart's are horrible at manipulating the opposite element like a yellow power heart(light type) attempting to control darkness. And it's only downside that i know of is that usage will drain life energy, usually it isn't a problem because life energy regenerates with sleeping or other ways to gain energy. But continuous use can drain it and if it is drained then you will begin to lose your sanity, and your abilities are way weaker. But that's all I know.

Huh... Isn't that Frank's room? What's happening in there? Derek thought to himself as he looked left of him and when he saw nothing, he turned his head to the right but there was nothing too.

He walked towards Room 20, then he knocked on the door. After receiving no reply, he grabbed the doorknob and slowly turned it in a clockwise motion.

Click! Creak... Derek slowly opened the door and gripped his dagger that was on his waist in anticipation for an attack. But that didn't come.

The lantern on the left wall was still on, allowing Derek to get a closer look at the room.

The room was messy and destroyed, with obvious signs of a fight ensuing here but who fought here?

The carpet was ripped apart and plastered on the wall with blood smeared on it, the bed was completely destroyed and the window was broken with shattered glass all around the room. A piece of glass with a sharp edge had blood on it, someone had definitely used to stab the other person.

The walls and floor had cracks all over the place, super strength? Wait, i actually haven't seen Frank this entire time, is the reason? Derek's mind raced as he processed all the information.

He walked to an intact drawer and opened it, inside was a glowing dark gem seemingly floating. It then flew up and escaped the drawer. It floated in the air for a few seconds before suddenly flying into Derek, fusing with his white power heart.

What the F*CK!? Derek cursed inwardly as he felt his white power heart being forcefully replaced by a dark colored power heart and it was painful.

Suddenly, a dark energy erupted out of his chest and Derek fell on the floor, losing his consciousness.

Huh? Derek muttered to himself in confusion as he was suddenly in a pitch black environment. He couldn't see anything whatsoever.

He reached out with his hand but could only barely see a dark silhouette of his palm. He looked down and saw that his whole body was dark and looked like a silhouette despite being so close.

If only i could see... Damn it... Wh- Derek was thinking when his thoughts were interrupted by the dark environment suddenly turning into a massive hallway with statues of unknown people and a dark red carpet. There was light in most places of the hallway except in some places blocked by the statues. There were chandeliers above his head, and writing on the wall detailing each statue and who it was dedicated. Derek didn't recognize this language but somehow understood it.

Okay... This is getting weird... Derek muttered to himself as he cautiously walked towards the end of the hallway, arriving at what seems to be a throne. There was a letter on the throne and Derek took it and read it.

Once again, a language he didn't recognize but understood. It read, "Hello! If anybody is reading this then... Congratulations! You have control over Schelem! If you don't know what Schelem is... Think of it as the domain of a God, so you're a God in this domain. I'm the previous owner but due to something, i may have to go into a deep slumber which is why I'm entrusting Schelem to you, you can do anything. Pretend to be a God, Create a Cult or whatever. Although, the thing is, i will definitely perish during my deep slumber. So, you will be the new owner after some time. You're definitely confused, just wait a few seconds and this letter will infuse all the knowledge needed currently to manage this domain. Bye!"

"Are you kidding me right now?" Derek said to himself out of pure shock, before he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his head and started remembered things he didn't remember.

Schelem is the domain of an actual God, not like those fakes like the Tree of Life that the elves worship. The ruler of Schelem is the most powerful being in Schelem, nobody can be stronger, just nerfed to equal or weaker than the current ruler of Schelem once they enter. The ruler of Schelem will also gain a massive power boost in their domain, and will gain more control the stronger they are in the real world.

Schelem will turn itself into anything the current ruler wishes, the magnificent hallway was what the previous wanted it to be like and he also wished for it to be pitch black to help put him into a deep slumber but Derek wished for him to be able to see, so the darkness was dispersed and replaced with light.

He can bring anybody he wants into this domain, even if they are God's but it is currently not recommended to do so. Schelem itself currently isn't just a hallway, it is a whole castle with powerful guard's on every side of the castle. You can do anything you want here, make a cult, kill god's in this domain. The previous owner fully permits it.

There was also a bunch more information that rushed into Derek's head but he believed that the information above to be the most important.

He slowly sighed and face palmed. He just wanted to live a normal life but now, he just got given the domain of a literal God. He wanted to just live a good life...

Are you... Kidding me... Derek muttered to himself in absolute shock, he walked around and inspected some statues. They included Helagorn, The Angel of Supremacy who is the underling of the previous owner.

He then saw a glowing floating star or something near the throne, he cautiously walked towards it and tapped it. It immediately vibrated and released a large amount of energy before gathering and forming slowly into a human-like figure...

Wait... Am i summoning somebody? Derek was immediately alerted. He wasn't prepared to summon anybody at all, he didn't expect for it to be random either.
