The campus looked peaceful from the outside. But Zeyn knew better.
He had been walking around it for nearly twenty minutes now, circling the same routes again and again, like a predator tracking a scent that had already faded. The pressure he felt, the faint ripple in the air, the sensation of someone powerful watching from a distance… none of that could have been imagined.
Her traces were gone. Completely erased.
"Figures," Zeyn muttered under his breath.
He eventually climbed the stairs to one of the upper balconies overlooking the central courtyard. The wide terrace stretched along the side of the building, offering a clear view of the open space below.
His eyes slowly swept across the courtyard beneath him. Scanning. Searching. Waiting for even the faintest disturbance in the flow of energy.
"Yo! MusangKing."
A voice came from behind him. Someone familiar.
Zeyn blinked. "Can you stop calling me by my in-game nickname?"
