A white flash split the ashen sky. Lightning struck and intertwined, dancing wildly in the heavy downpour that drenched the streets of Duras. Black smoke rose from rows of buildings while sirens wailed without pause.
People ran through flooded streets, shoving past one another in their desperate search for shelter. Some stumbled, others clutched their children, screaming names that were never answered.
From behind the curtain of rain, a dark-hooded figure strolled at a leisurely pace. Droplets splashed around him, yet not one touched his clothes, as if the air itself refused to make contact.

A bolt tore through the air, striking an antenna atop a building before snaking down glowing cables along the street. The surge hit a traffic light, shattering it into searing shards of glass that rained into the storm.
