Chapter 3: The Day the Village Was Shocked
Today was the day.
I stood at the center of Windmill Village's town square, the morning sun shining brightly above. My heart thudded with excitement—not fear. This wasn't just some childish prank or casual show-off moment. This was my grand reveal. The day I would shock my entire village and collect enough points to step into true power.
I had already planned every moment. My family, the villagers… everyone was going to be part of this. And my Shock System was going to eat well today.
Slowly, people began to gather around, curious as to why little Gojo had called for a public announcement. My father, Monkey D. Gara, stood with his arms crossed, a teasing grin on his face. My mother, Alice, was by his side, with Garp hopping up and down like a little monkey beside them.
"Everyone," I said clearly, my voice echoing through the square, "today… I'm going to show you something incredible. My power."
Father scoffed playfully. "Oh? And what can a little brat like you possibly show us that's worth dragging the whole village out here for?"
I grinned. "Just wait, old man. I promise… this is something you'll never forget."
He laughed, shaking his head. "We'll see about that."
Garp blinked up at me. "Brother, what are you going to show us?"
Mom's eyes narrowed. "Gojo… this better not be dangerous."
"Don't worry, Mom. Trust me, okay?"
Once everyone had arrived and the crowd had gathered, I took a deep breath, pulled a small pocket knife from my belt, and—without hesitation—slashed it across my wrist.
Gasps rang out. Panic flickered in their eyes. My mother screamed. "GOJO!"
But I stood there… smiling.
No pain. No scream. No panic.
The wound closed almost instantly, my skin knitting back together with supernatural speed as Ban's immortality kicked in. The square fell into stunned silence as the impossible unfolded before their very eyes.
I held up my arm, completely healed. "See?" I said calmly. "This is my power."
Mom rushed forward, eyes wide with worry. "Monkey D. Gojo! Didn't I say it better not be dangerous!?"
I laughed sheepishly. "Mom, I'm fine. Look at me. I didn't feel a thing. And besides, you saw it, right? My regeneration."
"But still," she scolded, trying to hold back tears. "You should've told us first. I nearly fainted!"
"Sorry, Mom…"
Garp was practically bouncing with excitement. "That was so cool! Can you teach me how to do that, too, brother?"
I ruffled his hair. "Sorry, Garp. That power is mine alone. But… I can teach you something even cooler."
His eyes sparkled. "Really? You're the best!"
Father chuckled, finally walking over. "You really surprised me there, brat."
"Just like I said, old man."
I wasn't done yet.
Next, I activated Ban's Snatch ability, using it subtly to lift several villagers' pouches, wooden sticks, and even a hat right off their heads. The items floated around me for a moment before I gently dropped them back into their owners' hands.
Their stunned faces were priceless.
The system chimed quietly in my mind with every gasp, every shout, every dropped jaw.
After a few more stunts, I wrapped up the demonstration. Everyone applauded—still a little confused, but impressed.
We returned home after that, laughter echoing as Garp kept begging me to show more. But I had one thing on my mind.
I rushed to my room and opened my system interface.
[System Notification: Shock Points Updated]
Total Points: 15,000
I blinked.
Fifteen. Thousand. Points.
Enough for Rokushiki (3,000) and all three types of Haki (2,500 each) with 4,500 points still left for training boosts or a weapon.
I smiled wide. Things were going even better than I expected.
Next step: unlock my Haki, master the Six Styles, and… maybe even pick up a sword.
After all, with the system, I could step right into the path of a swordsman. Slowly but surely, I would climb to become one of the greatest.
The seas weren't ready for me yet.
But soon, the world would learn the name:
Monkey D. Gojo.
