“Any word from Nadia yet Shai?” Triss asks this as she places a basket of muffins down on the coffee table. She takes a seat in a chair adjacent from the sofa Shai is sitting on. “I’m worried.”
Shai shakes her head. “No, I haven’t either. It’s already been over 48 hours. I’m worried too.”
“That girl’s been down too.” Zenith enters the conversation, as she sits down beside Shai with a plop. “Even though she’s silent as ever, I’ve seen a shift in her demeanor. She wants her moms.”
“Yes, I’ve noticed that too. The poor dear. Not even Lou is enough company to soothe her now.”
“Yeah, when she turned down your offer for sweets last night, I knew she was sad,” Shai says.
“If everyone is so worried, then I guess I can try going to find her. Not that I really want to.” Kairie chimes in, having been silently listening by the door since the conversation began.
“I know you’ll never admit to it, but thanks for worrying about my sister Kai.” Shai smiles.
