"Urk..." I groan as I wiped away the strange liquid clinging on my hair and clothes.
"Fufufu..." Soap laughs, clearly enjoying the sight.
She herself has been splattered with the strange substance, but she doesn't seem to mind it at all.
"Why didn't you kill it!?"
"It's a rare variant, so I wanted to see what it can do. I was curious. And fufu... It did not dissapoint..."
"You!" I wanted to scold her more, but stopped when I saw her entertained grin.
She clearly wouldn't listen to anything I'll say.
"Clean, clean, clean!"
I cast my signature spell over and over, trying to get rid of the stickiness and putrid smell on my body.
"Me too, Eria-nee," Soap requested, opening her arms wide.
"Grr..." I growled.
In the end, despite my reluctance, I used my spell on her as well.
"Don't tell anyone about what happened here, okay?" I told her in the most threatening way I could muster.
"I know, I know," she answered in defeat.
"Tch! Let's get out of here..."
I'm definitely going to take a long bath after this...
I wanted to hurry and get back home, but we still have to get Log. So, we stopped shortly at the goblins' lair where we left him. There, we were greeted by the sight of massacre.
"Kya! Die!" Log screams as he sank his knife into a hobgoblin's forehead.
Looking around, all we can see were the blood and gore of all the goblins and hobgoblins the wolf boy had massacred. Except for the deep slashes on their bodies, there were no consistency in their defeat. It was either they died from multiple cuts, or a clean slash on their necks.
"Urk... How brutal..." Soap comments, looking genuinely terrified.
"And I told him to be a bit more subtle with his prey..." I sighed.
"Master! Sophia-nee! You're here?"
Log immediately came running at us. His face and body were heavily covered in blood and gore. A long strip of entrails was even clinging on his shoulder, which immediately reminded me of the perversed Chimera we just defeated.
I suddenly felt the urge to puke the contents of my stomach...
Troubled by his smell and appearance, I quickly used my magic to clean him up, and then I handed him a change of clothes.
"We've come to get you. Are you done?"
"Yes! That's the last one."
"Great work. Hmm... I think they're getting a bit easy for you. We should focus on getting you promoted now so you can tackle some more difficult quests."
"Please, master! I want to defeat stronger monsters!"
I didn't think he would become so strong so fast. He's not as physically strong as a generic beastkin, but his instincts were surely abnormal. Pair that with his dangerous combination of speed and dexterity, and he's almost untouchable.
"You really are a magnet for the talented and crazy, Eria-nee."
"I won't deny the talented part, but the crazy?"
"Umu, this one's a certified predator, I think you should be careful with him."
"What do you mean?"
"What I mean is that he might not be as civil as I am."
Not completely understanding what Soap was talking about, I decided to move on.
I planned for us to eat on our way back home, but with the current situation, I reconsidered against it. Soap and Log protested, but I have the last say. I know how much of a glutton they are, but they will have to wait.
"Welcome back, Sophia-sama!"
"Welcome back!"
The gate guards greeted as we went back to the city. They were clearly showing a lot more respect with Soap around. Apparently, even more so than the guild and the adventurers, the local soldiers treat her like a celebrity.
"O-Ooh! What happened, Sophia-sama...?"
"Cough, cough... God, help me..."
The gate guards lecherously eyed our appearance.
Because of the accident we had to endure back in the mine, Soap and I were forced to remove some particles of our clothing. Soap is now only boldly wearing her red bra and black miniskirt, while I'm left with only my cropped shirt and tight fitting shorts.
It's not unusual for adventurers to expose so much skin, but since it's the two of us...
The gate guards were practically drooling in their mouths staring at us...
