Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Gabriel was walking following the Butterfly, he knew he would have to give it a less generic name than [Butterfly], but right now that was the least of his worries.

Finding a small group of Goblins wasn't really difficult, after all, most of them were gathered in groups of between 3 and 5 individuals. Which could be dangerous if he didn't have the little butterfly guiding me and detecting these groups with their relatives.

From now on this wouldn't be necessary, after all now that lone goblins were getting rarer to see, he would have to focus on these groups to increase his level.

"Status Window"

—Status Window—

Name: Gabriel

Level: 3

Features: [--]

Stigma: [Realization]

→ Skills: [0]

→ Traits: [0]

"Until I reach level 10, I won't be calm" I muttered as he avoided a large group of Goblins (Large Group = 5 Goblins).

"How far to find a small group?" I asked the Butterfly, to which she responded by saying that there were only a few more meters to go.

Luckily the Stigma of [Realization] allows me to create an invisible link with my creations, so I can understand their "words" even if they don't actually speak.

Soon after, we arrived in front of a group of three Goblins. It would have been preferable to find a group of two Goblins, but even after the Illusory Butterflies searched for a while, they couldn't find any, so I had to settle for this small group.

Still, that doesn't change the strategy too much. I thought as I signaled to the Butterfly to start the show. Butterfly-shaped specters composed of light appeared around her and flew towards the Goblins.

They were surprised to see that some annoying butterflies were flying around them, so they tried to hit them to get rid of them, but no matter how much they hit they didn't die.

Confused and increasingly irritated at not being able to get rid of the vermin they became increasingly frantic in their attacks even accidentally hitting one of their own.

That's not what I expected

He thought as he watched as the Goblin that received the attack began to Strike his partner.

While they were busy with their business, he walked with a silent rhythm towards the Goblin who was concentrating on trying to eliminate the little critter.

Now.

He thought to cheer himself up while with a quick blow he plunged his spear into the Goblin's neck and killed him instantly, before the Goblin's companions found himself hiding with the body among the trees.

Looking at the two goblins, he deduced that they did not notice the death of his partner.

Easier than he expected.

He thought as he prepared to finish them off.

Walking towards them, he approached, the illusory butterflies had left the Goblins since they were more busy wanting to crush the other's head than wanting to get rid of the little vermin.

He raised the spear with one hand and aimed at one of the Goblins, he wanted to test his throwing strength now that he had an easy target, so without even hesitation he threw it at one of the Goblins. It flew very quickly and in less than a second it had already stuck in the chest of one of the Goblins.

His partner was shocked to see how the person he was fighting with died suddenly. What Gabriel took advantage of by throwing himself at him with a worn sword, before he could understand what was happening, his chest had been stabbed with a sword, completely destroying his heart.

Before dying he tried to make one last attack on the mysterious assailant, but was easily avoided and hit in rebuke, ending his little life in seconds.

Gabriel looked for a second at the dead Goblin on the ground before looking away, he was surprised by his indifference to kill when in his place he should feel something, anything that would make her at least accept the reality of him.

"This must be related to the [Status Window]" He said to himself, it was obvious that the only thing different between his previous self and the current one was the presence of the mysterious [Status Window].

He doubted that his only function was really to indicate how strong he was and increase his level. More than that in the first place because it increases his level on kill? After all this is not a game, but real life.

In the games, leveling up indicated that one increased their strength, skill and competence in the fight and as a bonus your statistics would increase, even in most of the games it was not really necessary to kill your enemies to increase your level, it was enough with weaken them or win the fight. But in this place it was completely necessary to kill to increase it, which means that it is different in essence.

When he thought about it he could only shake his head, there was no point in thinking about it right now, only when he is in a safe place can he think about the properties of the status window and this place.

"I didn't increase my level" It was something that annoyed him even more, it was increasingly difficult to increase his level. Counting the ones he killed before and these three, he had killed a total of 12 Goblins, and had barely risen to level 3.

Since he didn't have an experience meter, he couldn't tell how many points he was given and how much he was missing, meaning he could only kill more until he increased it again.

"This is annoying, and this way of hunting is very slow" Although he didn't know how much time had passed, he could deduce that at least an hour had passed.

Which means that in an hour he had killed 12 Goblins, although he didn't know if that was a lot or a little, but if with 12 he had barely risen to level 3, he needed to increase his hunting rate until he reached level 10.

He didn't know why he wanted to quickly reach level 10, but he felt that something would change when that happened, so he had to rush to reach that level in the shortest possible time.

Luckily, he had a way to increase his hunting rate quickly.

"I guess it's time for my second creation" he thought as he activated his ability.

He had been planning to create his second follower for a while now, but he knew that when he did he would be tired for a while, so he was putting it off until he leveled up a bit more.

But now with the increasing difficulty of leveling up, he had no choice but to do so.

It didn't take a second for him to shape and decide his abilities, but the more his creation progressed, the feeling of exhaustion and weakness grew inside him.

Only when the entity was fully formed did the sensation stop, but the effects on his body were evident. His body looked weak and he could barely stand up with the use of a tree.

Before losing consciousness she summoned him to reality and immediately gave him a wordless command.

Have fun with the surrounding monsters, but make sure that no monsters that see you are still alive.

Darkness enveloped him the moment he felt the gaze of his creation.
