Just as Caius was about to take a comic book from the bed to read, he caught a whiff of a familiar breath— Seth.
As he bent down to pick up a brightly colored comic book from the bed, ready to read it out of curiosity, a familiar scent drifted through the air—very faint. It was Seth, unmistakable in his presence, that drew Caius's attention.
"Vera, I must leave first," Caius said swiftly, his voice barely above a whisper. "You need to promise me that you will take care of yourself. I'll return to check on you every few days."
With those parting words hanging in the air, he suddenly vanished, as if he had dissolved into the very shadows around, leaving no trace behind.
Venera sat there, puzzled, scratching the back of her head in confusion.
"Strange… Why did he leave so suddenly?" she murmured to herself.
