Nurezhin, Kingdom of Aviye
The hunter prowled.
She stalked through Nurezhin, following any whiff of the morsels she needed to remain at her peak. Since she wasn't supposed to cause too much trouble, she'd dressed as a Separatist soldier and stuck mostly to the rooftops, not that she had much to worry about in this city.
Her new leg, an involuntary gift from a woman with the right blood type, itched fiercely, reminding Dahlia that she was still not whole.
No matter. She was a survivor. She'd earned the right to become a hunter. She would prove she was still powerful the next time she came up against the enemy's so-called Ascendant Battalion.
She could smell one... He, or maybe she, was across the street. A family, one man, one woman, and one little girl, hurrying into a brick apartment building. Its walls were pock-marked from errant bullets, and Dahlia saw they were clutching food in their arms as they rushed inside. She wondered how she should kill them.
