Chapter 159 - Chapter 153- Revenge~2

In a desolated space stood the four Monarchs and a single Ruler who had betrayed the heavens.

If there was something they currently shared then it was the mutual frown on their faces. Although their plan was nearing its completion—with the essence of Cup of Reincarnation and the soul of Dragon Monarch in possession—they still showed no sign of elation.

"Did you see that?" The Frost Monarch asked, in his usual grumpy tone.

The Monarch of Beast grumbled before responding, "Everyone did. That flashy move from Infinity couldn't scare us."

Although he stated that, there was none in this space that felt it that way. Everyone was apprehensive about the fact that the Infinity let the Frost Monarch and Monarch of Plague return safely and even offered them the tool that contained Antares' soul.

A friend's kindness is to be appreciated but when a foe shows kindness, show utmost wariness.

"Is it that, he is planning to sabotage us during the merging?" The only winged entity in the space suggested.

"But can he find us?" Monarch of Iron Body asked.

"Don't underestimate the Infinity. We all know about his dominance over cross-dimension traveling." Yogumunt suggested—the only Monarch who has never faced the Infinity but has only observed that anomaly from far away.

"We need to act rather than contemplate." The Beast Monarch growled and encouraged the timid ones. Seriously, they were afraid of that brat even though the biggest source of fear—the Shadow Monarch—was down.

Yogumunt snickered, "And would you face Infinity if he decides to strike at us during the merge?"

The merge takes a good while to conclude. And if some interruption occurs and, for some reason, the soul of Antares gets reduced to fragments, there is a high chance for them to fail in their final plan.

"He won't interfere." Suddenly, the cold voice of the Frost Monarch echoed, garnering everyone's attention.

"And how can you be sure?" Yogumunt pressed for an answer

The snow elf smirked before responding, "Infinity is quite full of himself and wants us to succeed so he can show that he is the almighty. However, he still doesn't know the extent of the Supreme One's strength."

Those words held certainty and unlike Beast Monarch, the Frost Monarch wasn't being delusional at all. Everyone has seen how Infinity acted back then, which suggests that he, indeed, is arrogant and overconfident.

Suddenly, the hesitant voice of Yogumunt sent a shiver down everyone's spine, "And what if the Infinity is really strong enough to deal with the Supreme One?"

A heavy atmosphere surrounded the entities before, and finally, the Beast Monarch lost his cool, " Stop behaving cowardly and just get on with it! If the Infinity really tries to meddle, then I would deal with him myself."

Nobody said anything about that...but everyone knew that if the Infinity indeed arrived, the Beast Monarch would be the first one to escape.

In a different dimension, Haru had already slaughtered all the rest of the Rulers through different means. He killed them over and over using different spells, trying new ones as well when he had the opportunity, only to resurrect them back to life.

The torture continued until their souls got torn into fragments, and ultimately, they died. Only this one, in Haru's hold, was clinging to life by a thin thread that could easily get severed with just a snap of Haru's fingers.

The Ruler hung upside down, his head completely bashed in and his body, entirely soaked in blood.

The last Ruler stared at his killer with his eyes barely open and his mind no longer functioning. Nothing in this world could destroy or even make this anomaly flinch—a realization that others should be aware of. However, it was too late. The last Ruler would perish along with all the Monarchs and the Supreme One. This anomaly was out of every estimation they had.

"Are you finally counting your regrets before death?" Haru casually asked, seeing the dazed look in the Ruler's eyes.

The Ruler's throat was congested with blood but he somehow spoke, "D-D-Don't yo-you feel l-lonely..."

Haru frowned before asking, "Why would I? I have friends, family, and a lover. I am more than happy."

The Ruler continued, "B-B-But...d-do t-t-th-they k-kn-know t-the r-r-real you...?"

Haru's frown deepened. Surely he shouldn't have started this conversation.

Raising his hand, he was about to finish the task and return to Jinah when suddenly the Ruler added, "Beyond t-that facade...th-the real you are lonely...a-and I pray you rema-remain alone for the-"

*Shuank*

The head of the Rulers erupted, splattering blood all around.

Haru forgot to shield himself and the blood also painted his face and clothes.

Blood....

He has a very close relationship with blood. His past....about which not even Jinah knew flashed by his eyes. That past when he did not used to live like a living being and was far from being a human.

He was nothing but a bloodthirsty maniac.

That past horrified the current Haru and never did he want to return to that darkness.

"Haru!" Hearing Jinah's voice everyone turned to look at him. Haru and Jinah's parents have gathered in one place.

The time passage between the dimension and the real world was quite different. That's why Haru was gone for three days for them.

Haru gently hugged his lover in his arms and greeted the others, "Hello old people. Missed me?"

His casual tone made everyone relaxed. There was no visible wound on him that allowed Haru's mother to heave a sigh. She gets really worried these days when Haru doesn't appear before her every now and then.

After sharing a few words with them, everyone told the duo to come inside the house, since they all were standing on the rooftop.

Haru also wanted to follow them with Jinah still linked to him, when suddenly he felt a tug on his shirt, urging Haru to look down at Jinah.

Surprisingly her eyes held apprehension as she asked, "What happened?"

Haru blinked in surprise before shaking his head, "Nothing. I am fine. Really."

Jinah narrowed her eyes before complaining, "Nanase Haruka, the book that I can read without getting tired or making any effort is you. And right now I can sense that you are anxious. So just tell me."

Haru sighed upon hearing her words, confused whether he should smile or grieve that he wasn't able to hide it from her.

In the end, he decided to just tell her.

A/N:- Read ORV up to chapter 60. Goddamn, the amount of work the author has done to make the masterpiece is ridiculous and admirable. I have to read it until the end before deciding if I am really capable.
