At that, she fell silent.
This was a question that stumped her; she never expected Dylan to say that.
"Of course, we'll do it by inviting you to dinner with us, Dyl." Reuben beamed as he walked out of the room with Matilda. "Dyl, you're too meticulous; you've tidied up our bedroom too. It's as if I've come to my son-in-law's house."
At that very moment, Dylan's eyes abruptly watered.
Lily hissed, "Dad, what are you talking about?"
"I'm just kidding. Look at how shy you are."
Taken aback, Lily thought,
"My dear daughter, are you tired?" Reuben asked. Lily shook her head in response. She was not the one who drove; she was a passenger in the car, so she was not tired at all.
"That's good. Your mom and I will stay here to see what else we need to tidy up, so you and Dyl should go to the supermarket to buy some groceries. Dyl has helped us big time, so the very least we can do is to invite him to join us for a meal."
