Zion panicked. He held Daisy tightly and exclaimed, "Nonsense! I will not divorce you! You shouldn't have to sacrifice like this. What's the purpose of me going home if you are not there? We went through so much to finally be together. Are you actually willing to give up?"
Daisy covered her mouth and turned away. She feigned sadness. "But I don't want to be the reason you and your parents' relationship fall apart. I feel really guilty. I am willing to bear all the sadness and let you go back to your parents."
From a bystander's point of view, Daisy's words couldn't be more fake. However, Zion believed them to be genuine and felt utterly moved.
Zion grabbed Daisy's hands tightly in front of the two elders. "Daisy, I promise you. I will never abandon you," he said firmly.
Their conversation looked like a rehearsed two-person act to Mrs. Lowe. She was furious that Zion seemed to have been completely brainwashed by Daisy.
