The roar of Allen's motorcycle cut through the city's morning haze like a blade through silk. Asphalt streaked beneath their tires in a smooth hum, sun peeking through the glass towers and bouncing off chrome. Mila clung to him from behind. Arms wrapped tightly around his waist, chin nestled between his shoulder blades, hair tousled from the wind.
They didn't speak during the ride. They didn't have to.
Her warmth against his back. Her heartbeat pulsing where her chest pressed into him. That was enough.
They curved off the main road and turned into the condo district near downtown. Sleek lines, glass balconies, high security, one of those places that said "independent but spoiled" in the best way. Allen's bike slowed, then idled as they pulled into the parking bay. The engine rumbled for a beat before he killed it with a flick.
