Redemption. It's a sinner's ultimate duty to seek it. Even as the guilt burns inside you, even as you feel overwhelmed by emotions, you must never run from it. You can either face the ugliness of the consequences or face the ugliness of your own soul. You might not always find forgiveness or peace, but these reasons aren't what is at the heart of a redemption. You do it not for yourself or others, but because it's the right thing to do.
McCree stepped inside Oltevin's house before turning to face Senju. Though Senju subtly lifted his foot in case McCree wanted him to accompany him, McCree raised his palm and halted Senju's advance. Without a single word spoken, Senju retracted his step and nodded in acknowledgment of McCree's wishes. It's his mission as a messenger, not his.
[Oltevin] - "I didn't expect to see you all the way in my hometown, old friend. "
Said Oltevin as he marched forward, pushing aside scattered toys on the ground.
[McCree] - "I came here... To deliver a message. "
Said McCree nervously.
[Oltevin] - "Oh? A message? From you? Hahaha, since when did you become a mailman? "
Said Oltevin as he moved into the kitchen.
With the professionalism of a seasoned father, Oltevin quickly removed the dirty plates and garbage occupying the dining table.
[Oltevin] - "Hold on a second, let me clean up mess, then we talk. "
McCree silently nodded while standing on the other side of the kitchen door frame. As his eyes darted around the home around him, he noticed three young children in the living room. However, a woman with a hood quickly stepped into view and shut the living room door on McCree's face. There was a worried look in her eyes before she vanished behind the door.
[McCree] - "Your kids and wife? "
[Oltevin] - "I got married a while ago, before the Cleansing Crusade, and had three children. Then, when the war broke out, I had to leave home behind. "
Said Oltevin as he slapped a worn rag on the kitchen table.
McCree touched the wooden doorframe before taking a look at the kitchen. It was quite a small place considering Oltevin's size, but it felt nostalgic. For a moment, a tear almost rolled down McCree's cheek as the place reminded him of his grandmother's kitchen.
[McCree] - "I wonder why ya would leave behind such a warm place. I would've never left my wife, children and home to go fight a war I ultimately didn't believe in. "
Said McCree as Oltevin wiped the table clean.
[Oltevin] - "Because I believed that I was doing the right thing. "
Said Oltevin as he threw the rag into the sink before signalling for McCree to sit.
After sitting on opposite sides of the small kitchen table, it was now time for McCree to show Oltevin what he came to show him. However, he hesitated, knowing Oltevin would probably agree to help. McCree saw the life Oltevin is leading, and how dragging him back into danger could possibly leave a whole family fatherless. But most importantly, McCree felt guilty toward his old friend. Not only did he betray him by siding with Jagger before, but now that Oltevin is finally at peace with his family, McCree is here to drag him back into hell.
[Oltevin] - "Well, old friend? "
[McCree] - "I... just... Don't feel right. Ya don't seem to hold a grudge against me for everything I did. I once betrayed ya, and here, ya simply invited me into your home as if we were still friends. "
Said McCree as he looked down at the table.
[Oltevin] - "But we are friends. You were never anything less than a friend to me. "
Said Oltevin in a casual tone.
[McCree] - "But do I deserve to be your friend? I insulted you, pointed a gun at your head, and sent you and the others to your death. Now, I... "
McCree briefly choked on his words as he struggled with the right words. However, after a moment of thought and a pair of clenched fists, McCree raised his eyes to meet Oltevin.
[McCree] - "...I simply wish you are well. That's my message. There's no grand picture, no important news; it's just me trying to reach out and make amends with my past. "
Said McCree, his irises dodging Oltevin's gaze.
However, Oltevin immediately saw through McCree's lie. Though he doubted why McCree was hiding the truth from him, he still decided to approach the situation respectfully.
[Oltevin] - "We do not lie between friends. You might see yourself as a guilty or a traitor, but you are still my friend. I can forgive your past actions, but I can't forgive you if you walk out of that door today after feeding me a mouthful of lies. "
Said Oltevin in a serious voice that trumped over his jolly tone.
McCree looked around while nodding his head in acknowledgment and defeat.
[McCree] - "Alright... Alright! You got me! "
Said McCree as a pained grimace appeared on his face.
Slowly, McCree pulled the small holographic recorder out of his pocket and placed it before Oltevin.
[Oltevin] - "From who came message? "
Said Oltevin as he took hold of the device.
However, it took Oltevin a bit of effort to rip the device out of McCree's tenacious hands. As the recording began to play, McCree simply sat sideways on his chair while biting his nails in nervousness.
"Hey, Comrade Oltevin. Well, I guess this is quite an awkward way to meet you again. So, I suppose if you are seeing this, I'm probably dead. So yeah... It was quite the adventure, wasn't it? "
Said Audrey as a small grin appeared on her face.
"I still remember back then, you were the one who trusted Kadyn, unlike the rest of us, when she first arrived in our midst. Even I doubted her, of her nature and her loyalty, but not you. Out of all of us, you have the purest heart, the biggest hug and the largest soul. If not for your trust in her, maybe I would've never been inspired to be tolerant and even one day become her friend. "
Audrey paused before raising her eyes to show the hopeful glint they bore.
"Kadyn was in trouble, and I intend to go rescue her with Athena. I don't know if I'll survive or not, but if you're seeing this message, I probably didn't. However, I'm not sure if Athena succeeded or if Kadyn was freed from her prison. All I can say is, I hope she is fine... Anyways, take care, comrade, friend, whatever you consider me. I'll be leaving the rest to you and the person delivering you the message, whom I trust. "
Said Audrey before McCree reached forward and ended the replay.
[McCree] - "That's all that's destined to reach you. "
Slowly, Oltevin leaned back into his chair while rubbing his finger against his chin.
[Oltevin] - "Why you want to hide message from me, comrade? Did something happen? "
Said Oltevin, a look of concern appearing on his face.
[McCree] - "Both Audrey and Athena perished against Jagger. However, now, even Kadyn is in trouble... "
Said McCree with a hint of hesitation in his voice.
[Oltevin] - "And? "
[McCree] - "That's all there is. "
Oltevin leaned toward the table, his gaze turning into suspicion as he stared at McCree.
[Oltevin] - "What have you done, McCree? Because I don't see any harm in knowing this information, but you seem hesitant in showing it to me for some reason. "
Said Oltevin, his brows frowning with anger.
[McCree] - "I– I wasn't involved in it. "
[Oltevin] - "Lies! Then why the hesitation? Why all this posturing instead of showing me honesty? "
Yelled Oltevin as he banged on the table with the force of a bear.
[McCree] - "Because I care for ya! Ya are like me, a man who does what's right in any situation. I came initially to recruit ya for your help, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Ya have a wife, a family... These people need ya, just as Kadyn needs our help. "
Exploded McCree, finally letting the truth flow free after all the pressure.
[Oltevin] - "Kadyn is in danger, but my family is safe! You must be insane thinking I wouldn't help our old Captain. "
Said Oltevin, baffled by McCree's explanation.
[McCree] - "It's exactly because I'm damn sane that I'm hesitatin' about it. During my time workin' for Jagger, I tore apart many families because I thought I was simply doing what's right– Arrestin' traitors and dissidents. I've created enough tragedy for one lifetime, and I don't want to meet an old friend I wronged and request his life to be put on the line as the first thing I say. "
McCree turned away from Oltevin with gritted teeth.
[McCree] - "I can't do this, man. I can't let ya go with us while leavin' behind your family. This just ain't right! "
[Oltevin] - "But it is not up to you to decide for me, old friend. You could've ignored Captain Kadyn's dilemma, yet you didn't. Tell me, McCree, is it any more right for you to break your parents' hearts by leaving than what I decide to do? "
Said Oltevin as he clasped his hands together.
[McCree] - "I'm a soldier. That's what I do. Never had a wife, child or anything. "
Said McCree, guilt still lingering on his face.
[Oltevin] - "And so am I! These are only my children by blood, but they are children of the village by name. I didn't raise them; my wife, my parents, and my village raised them. They know I am a soldier, not a civilian. My sacrifice is what allowed this village to prosper. My mercenary work brought the fortune necessary to maintain life here. "
Said Oltevin before leaning toward McCree.
[Oltevin] - "We fight for what's right and for our friends, that's a soldier way! We do not settle; we fight, so others can settle. "
McCree slowly turned around to face Oltevin, his guilt partially dissolved by his words.
[McCree] - "Alright. I understand. Let's get moving then, old partner. "
Said McCree as he reluctantly reached his hand toward Oltevin.
With a massive smile, Oltevin shook McCree's hand like an excited child.
[Oltevin] - "Okay, old friend. However, I am not the only soldier in this village. If you agree, we can include my friends from the military as well. "
[McCree] - "The more the merrier. "
Said McCree while shaking his head.
Soon, McCree exited Oltevin's home and met up with Senju by the staircase. Looking back, McCree saw OItevin giving his wife and children a goodbye kiss before heading toward the door with his massive Chimera carbine.
[Senju] - "So? I guess the old crew is somewhat back together. "
Oltevin, upon seeing Senju at the door, immediately rushed up to him and took in a massive bear hug.
[Oltevin] - "Haha! Comrade Senju, long time no see! "
Cheered Oltevin while lifting Senju off the ground.
[Senju] - "Ye– yeah! Glad to see you too, comrade. "
Muttered Senju while being crushed in Oltevin's embrace.
[Oltevin] - "So! I see you are both ready to go on adventure together. New sword, new guns, new hearts. "
Said Oltevin as he pointed out the new gears possessed by McCree and Senju.
[McCree] - "I needed a weapon upgrade just like ya, old pal. "
[Senju] - "Gifted by my old master at the dojo. I shall do my best with this new sword. "
[Oltevin] - "Very nice! Now, let's go recruit some friends for the mission. "
Said Oltevin as he took the lead in the group.
Meanwhile, in Michalis and Christos' shared home, the two Marines ceremoniously placed down their weapons and helmets before a home-made altar with a tiny statue of Athena on top. Then, as the incense slowly burned around the statue, the Marines kneeled down and lowered their heads at their goddess.
[Michalis] - "Oh Goddess Athena, may you forgive our souls for not being able to join our brothers in the sky. "
[Christos] - "May you grant us protection against a world hostile to us. As your adored sons, we wish to live long enough to return to the fleet and die beside our honour brothers instead. "
With these last words, Michalis lit up a small candle before Athena's statue, and the two men proceeded to full kneel with their faces against the ground. The men of the 9th fleet, for the most part, adopted the religion which worshipped Athena for her divine powers. With her death, her image as a martyr became even more legendary in her fleet than before. Twice a day, the men, especially the Marines of the 9th fleet, will have to pray for five minutes to their venerated Goddess for luck and protection.
Ever since the 9th fleet disbanded and fled to the moon to join their cousins, the World Forgers, some unfortunate men from the fleet were left behind on Earth in the panicked evacuation. For Michalis and Christos, their situation was especially tragic as they were pious Marines of the 9th fleet sent to escort Oltevin and Senju back to their home after their recovery in the medical facility of the 9th fleet. However, as they were away, the 9th fleet left Earth following the news of Athena's death. By the time the two Marines returned, they were left with no place to call home.
Following an attack by the elements of the 21st fleet, who now saw them as traitors, the ship carrying Christos and Michalis was left severely damaged as it escaped before crashing into the plains of Ukraine. Despite being engulfed in fire and debris, the Marines easily walked through the flames before tearing through the ship's hull. The voltaic fibres lining their armour's inside easily allowed the two to effortlessly rip apart the metal with superhuman strength.
After staggering out of their crashed ship under the starry night sky, Michalis and Christos desperately tried to pull the pilot out of the cockpit, but realized that he was already burned to a crisp by the fuel fire. Without a choice, they staggered away from the burning wreck. As the flame slowly left their periphery, the unknown landscape around them made them realize they were beyond stranded.
[Michalis] - "Fuck! Where the fuck even are we? "
Yelled Michalis as he looked around himself.
[Christos] - "Wherever we are, we'd better move. We are in N.N.E. territories and I think... I think the enemy radar picked up our location before we crashed. "
Said Christos, his voice full of panic.
[Michalis] - "Holy shit! "
Said Michalis as he felt his blood run cold.
Though Christos could not see Michalis' face beneath his helmet, he could nonetheless taste the fear in his voice. With panicked breaths, the two Marines ran through the large open fields while constantly looking over their shoulders. However, despite their powered armour allowing them to run for upward of a day or two without exhaustion at the speed of a gazelle, they were still way too slow to outrun any ship trying to catch up to them.
Soon, as Michalis turned around, his visor detected an enemy craft approaching their position with extreme speed.
[Michalis] - "Shit, shit, shit! "
Yelled Michalis as he immediately leaped behind a small hill for cover.
Following Michalis' action, Christos also leaped into cover and pulled out his combat pistol. Since he was a medical Marine, Christos was unfortunately not equipped with a Chimera carbine. Aiming with his carbine, Michalis prepared for the enemy ship to come closer before firing.
On the ship, meanwhile, a single Marine sat alone in the rows of empty seats. Yet, unlike the others, his armour was way bulkier and his carbine way larger than the standard. On his purple and gold armour, the Roman numeral III shone under the dim red light. Suddenly, a carbine shot ricocheted off the cockpit window. With a grunt, the Marine stood up and moved toward the opening ramp. Soon, a second shot smashed through the armoured glass and splashed the pilot's brain all over the floor.
In one swift leap, the Marine jumped out of the ship and used the momentum to roll before engaging in a sprint. Meanwhile, the co-pilot quickly took control of the ship and diverted its course before it could receive another hit. From a distance, a juggernaut of this size should not be running this fast, but the World Bearer Marine worringly rushed toward Michalis at about 125 km per hour. With bated breath, Christos clenched his neck pendulum and prayed for Athena's protection.
[Christos] - "The Goddess protects, and we endure! "
Muttered Christos before raising his pistol.
[Michalis] - "Move! "
Screamed Michalis as he pulled Christos away.
As the two ducked behind another hill, the World Bearer Marine smashed through the first hill like a truck before finally coming to a stop. If they had stayed there, they would've been severely wounded just by the impact alone. Without hesitation, Michalis fired two shots at the enemy Marine, but even 12.5mm rounds harmlessly bounced off his opponent's armour like throwing darts at a metal sheet.
With deadly precision, the World Bearer fired, his 20mm round ignoring all armour on Michalis' body as it blew his arm clean off its socket. Michalis didn't even have the time to register the pain before he realized that his left arm had gone missing from his shoulder. Another bolt of plasma streaked through the air into the hill, but even then, it still smashed through the dirt and planted itself in Michalis' chest.
[Michalis] - "Ah! Fuck! Aaargh! "
With deliberately slow steps, the World Bearer advanced toward his prey, knowing that only a massive river stood behind their back. Working quickly, Christos used his servo-arms from his backpack to inject Michalis with blood coagulant to stop his bleeding while removing the bullet, which had shattered rib and lung.
[Michalis] - "Just run! I'm as good as dead! "
Yelled Michalis with difficulty as only one of his lungs worked.
[Christos] - "As if running will save my life. Get ready, we're going for a dive! "
Said Christos as he plunged the openings on Michalis' wounds.
With no time to apply an anesthetic, the burning of Michalis' flesh to seal the wounds caused him to scream in immense pain. Just as the World Bearer was about to reach the two, Michalis and Christos rolled over the embankment into the water, sinking all the way to the bottom due to the weight of their armour. Without thinking much, the World Bearer Marine also followed the two as he jumped into the river.
Soon, the three were face-to-face once again on the riverbed. Using their thermal vision to see through the murky water, the World Bearer lifted his carbine and fired. However, due to water being 800 times denser than air, the once deadly round now bounced harmlessly off Christos' armour. Not only did the water neutralize the plasma jet at the tip by absorbing heat, but it also messed with the ballistic of the projectile.
[Christos] - "Looks like we have a chance after all. Can you fight, Michalis? "
Said Christos over his com as he unsheathed his high-frequency knife.
[Michalis] - "If I'm breathing, then I can fight. "
Screamed Michalis as he stood up and reached for his knife.
However, as Christos began feeling the hope rush back into his heart, he was horrified to see the World Bearer suddenly pull a high-frequency great sword out of his backpack unit before massive Zeus-claws also extended from both his wrists.
[Christos] - "That's cheating! That bastard can't be serious! "
Said Christos as his hope evaporated with the sight.
[Michalis] - "I'll need you to approach him while I cover you. You stand a better chance of fighting him at close than me. Use your plasma cutter servo-arm as a surprise attack. "
[Christos] - "I'm a fucking medic, dude. I'm not trained as extensively as you in melee combat. Besides, how will I even reach him before he cuts me like salami? "
Instead of reaching for his knife, Michalis raised his Chimera carbine and aimed it at his opponent.
[Christos] - "Are you serious? Even his bullets are not very effective underwater. "
[Michalis] - "Not the bullets, I'm going to launch the underbarrel grenade at him. Since we all use thermal vision to see, the heat from the blast will temporarily cover your approach. Meanwhile, I'll move in from a different direction to distract him. "
Said Michalis before separating from Christos to move into position.
Readying himself, the World Bearer braced his sword in Christos' direction, knowing the medic posed more of a threat than a wounded one-armed Marine. As Christos rushed forward, Michalis fired the grenade at their opponent, creating a blast that temporarily created a blind spot on the Marine's visor.
However, with great skills and intelligence, the World Bearer ducked sideways, avoiding Christos' knife strike before swinging his sword at him, knocking the blade out of Christos' hands. Yet, before the World Bearer could take another swing at Christos, Michalis rushed forward with his combat knife. With one swift swing, the World Bearer Marine turned around and slashed off several of Michalis' fingers alongside his knife.
But this action left Christos with an opportunity to finally surprise the enemy with his servo-arms. In one swift strike, Christos planted the tip of his plasma-cutter, meant to cut away armour to reach certain wounds, into the back of the World Bearer's neck. Before the Marine could turn around to strike, the plasma had already punched through the armour and sliced through his spine. In an instant, the World Bearer's body went limp and collapsed harmlessly against the riverbed.
Relief shot through both Marines, but the sheer trauma of their experience compelled Christos to make sure the job was properly done. Using his combat pistol, Christos pressed the barrel against the neck wound of the dead Marine and fired three shots. With heavy breaths and trembling hands, both Christos and Michalis looked up at the sky.
[Christos and Michalis] - "The Goddess protects! "
Later, after crawling out of the river, Christos did his best to treat Michalis' wounds before they embarked on their journey. Knowing that they had dropped off Oltevin the previous day at his hometown, the environment and scenery slowly became more and more familiar as they moved West, away from the N.N.A.'s territory.
Finally, as they reached Pervomaisc, they were surprised to find sympathy among a people they expected little from, considering their identity as Imperial Marines. Though the mood was initially tense in the first few days, Michalis and Christos eventually found comfort in their temporary refuge when they met with Nilsson and other Imperial deserters. However, though they have called this place home for the better part of a year now, they still felt the need to return to their fleet.
In the present, as Oltevin invited the two Marines to join him, they were quick to accept.
[Christos] - "Of course! We are soldiers. This life doesn't suit us anyway. I've been looking forward to a bit of action all this time. "
Said Christos with excitement in his voice.
[Oltevin] - "Oh, I didn't know you weren't comfortable with life in our village. "
[Christos] - "No, no, please, good friend, I didn't mean it like that. We couldn't thank you enough for your hospitality, but this is not where we belong. I would've stayed, but we have an oath toward our Goddess, Athena. We will not rest until the world is brought to peace once more. "
Said Christos in an apologetic tone.
[McCree] - "Ya leaning quite strong there with the Greek mythology. "
Said McCree as he leaned against the doorframe.
[Oltevin] - "Not Greek mythology, old friend. These men worship THE Athena, that cyberknight girl who had her men nurse us back to health after our fight with her. "
McCree's eyes widened with shock.
[McCree] - "You mean Knight Marshal Athena? Ya tellin' me, these grown men pray twice a day to a deceased young woman? "
Said McCree, flabbergasted by the situation.
[Christos] - "Watch your mouth, bastard! She might be dead, but she lives on in our hearts, and she protects us from above. You do not understand her divinity or our fleet's story, so who are you to cast judgment upon us? "
Yelled Christos as he advanced confrontationally toward McCree.
[McCree] - "I've actually met her personally. She ain't tell me shit about her men formin' a cult around her. "
[Christos] - "Man, mind your own fucking business. Go worship your... "
Christos paused and saw the cross motif dangling from McCree's neck.
[Christos] - "...Go worship your Jesus or something. At least I've seen our Goddess Athena perform miracles in person, unlike your religion entirely based on gossip. "
Said Christos with hostility in his tone.
[McCree] - "Listen here, ya little shit! "
Screamed McCree before Senju restrained him.
Meanwhile, Oltevin spoke with Michalis as they gathered their gear from the crates hidden beneath the floorboard. Kneeling down, Michalis unearthed his armour from one of the top crates.
[Michalis] - "We'll help, but we'll part ways once the job is done. "
Said Michalis as he inspected his chestplate, still marked by the hole left by the 20mm that struck him.
[Oltevin] - "You need to return to fleet, right? "
[Michalis] - "Exactly. Your friend seems to have a way to smuggle us to America for this mission. Once we're there, we'll have a way to contact our fleet without having our communication intercepted by either empire. Combined with the general state of chaos there, we can be safely extracted by a ship without being hunted. "
Said Michalis as he traced his cybernetic finger across the rim of the bullet hole.
[Oltevin] - "Oh, well, it's a bit sad seeing you two go. "
Said Oltevin with a sigh.
[Michalis] - "Worry not, comrade, we still got a while together before we part ways. No need to get emotional now. "
Said Michalis as he nudged Oltevin with his elbow.
As noon loomed over the town, Oltevin and his teammates left Michalis and Christos' home. Leading ahead, Oltevin guided the two toward the next destination.
[Oltevin] - "We still have two friends to ask. However, I can't guarantee their enthusiasm like with Christos and Michalis. "
[McCree] - "We'll take as much help as we can get. "
[Senju] - "By the way, when can we depart? I'm sure we have wasted a lot of time just trying to recruit a team, and Kadyn is still in uncertain waters. "
[Oltevin] - "Michalis might need the day to get his gear ready since they need maintenance. At best, we can depart tomorrow morning at first light. "
[Senju] - "That's still a lot of time wasted. Let's get to our next destination quickly in case of any other complications. "
Said Senju as he briefly overtook Oltevin in speed.
At this very moment, the events of the rebellion in Trump City had just been concluded with Astroboy's outburst. With Kadyn now on the run, KD-554 and her loyal knight quickly arrived in Light City, where her influence already had an iron grip on its administration for years. Though not drowned in misery like Trump City, KD-554's arrival will soon change that.
As KD-554 and her cadre of followers arrived before a massive holographic screen that displayed a map of the United States and its major cities, the chief of KD-554's personal militia, Lord Romanovsky, stepped forward to greet his master.
[Romanovsky] - "My lord, you have arrived just in time. We have a general idea of where your prey is hiding. "
Using a metal stick, Romanovsky encircled an area on the map in red.
[Romanovsky] - "The truck was abandoned in the Choctaw Nation, meaning our fugitives could either still be roaming in Texas or have moved into Arkansas or Louisiana. However, we believe she could be moving North, considering possible recent camera footage. My best estimate? Oklahoma City. "
KD-554 stayed silent as she kept eying the map while contemplating.
[Astroboy] - "Oklahoma City is improbable. I've reviewed the footage, and according to the patterns, I can see that she had tricked you. If our target was so foolish as to allow her action to be captured this clearly on camera, then she would've never escaped us. She will travel South, possibly to a port city where she could find the means to escape the country. "
KD-554 suddenly raised her hand, and the room immediately went silent. With an evil grin on her face that stretched impossibly wide across her face, KD-554 morphed her finger into a needle and pointed at their current location.
[KD-554] - "Or she could be hiding... RIGHT. UNDER. OUR. NOSES. "
Both sides' jaws dropped in confusion as Light City was situated to the West, and outside of any logical assumption of causability for Kadyn to hide in. Even Astroboy was baffled by KD-554's hypothesis as he quickly analyzed the map, thinking he had missed a critical detail.
[KD-554] - "Quit looking, my dear knight. There is no evidence, only... sensation. I know she's close, too close. I can almost feel her presence and the rottingstench of her flesh. "
Said KD-554 as an unhinged expression appeared on her face.
Though almost everyone in the room didn't agree with KD-554's proposition, none dared to voice their opposition. Breaking the ice, Romanovsky stepped forward and nodded at KD-554 in approval.
[Romanovsky] - "You maggots heard our lord, get to work! "
Outside, while KD-554 stood in the tallest building in the middle of Light City, Kadyn quietly moved between the crowd with a backpack full of supplies, unaware of the calamity to come. For a moment, Kadyn suddenly felt a presence inside her heart, almost as if KD-554 was standing right behind her. As she turned around, she saw no one suspicious. However, her gaze didn't fall on any individual, but on the tallest tower in the city, which gave her a familiar yet unsettling feeling, just like with the government tower in Trump City.
To be continued...
