"Lucian has won his second match the next round will be a by round, you will not be allowed to recover until your next opponent finishes his match.' The automated voice sounded causing Lucian to frown.
"I thought we'd get to relax and watch the others matches." Lucian said obviously dissatisfied with what was going on.
"This is a speed bracket that test adaptability, endurance, raw power and ability." The automated voice stated as if answering Lucian's question.
"Thanks… I guess." Lucian stated before sitting down waiting for his next opponent.
Before he'd realized it 15 minutes had went by and someone was materializing in front of him. It was a young boy with a head full of red hair that seemed to recognize Lucian as his eyes went wide and he fell backwards with his last words barely audible.
"I surrender he said, as his body turned to motes of light while he disappeared.
Lucian's performance in the forest rumble was enough to leave a scar on the minds of the other youths. They all knew they were geniuses in their own rights but there was always some people that completly eclipsed anything they could achieve.
And Lucian was just one of those eclipse moments alongside the other 3 monsters that the light family had the gall to call youths.
Again Lucian was told he needed to wait without recovering. This time he had to wait almost 20 minutes before someone began to appear in front of him for round 5.
'Round 5 between Lucian and Calix, will begin in 5 minutes the contestants may use this time to recover.' The automated voice sounded.
*Buzzzzzz*
After 5 minutes was up a loud buzz and the automated voice returned. "Round 5 between Lucian and Calix may now begin."
As soon as the voice spoke Calix could be seen manifesting a type of midevil armour resembling a knight.
While a dark horse clad in flaming silver armour began to climb out of the ground beneath him.
Lucian looked on in awe as his opponent turned into a resplendent knight mounted on a horse with a long sword made of the same material as the armor of his horse in one hand reverse gripped.
When Lucian saw how he was holding his sword he tilted his head in confusion before the horse took off at a blazing speed. Before he even realized it the horse was directly on top of him.
'C rank!' Lucian thought as he flipped backwards with wide eyes dodging a devastating swipe from the reverse gripped long sword.
Lucian could see the arena floor had been sliced directly by the attack where stood as he began to maneuver in the air creating pads of dark light mid air for him to propel himself around.
To Lucian's surprise the midnight black horse followed him with trained intensity not giving him a second to remain stationary and relaxed.
"When I beat you the family will realize you're just a fluke, I don't know how you made it this farm but this is where you finish this portion of the tournament." Calix taunted his voice filled with anger.
"Oh… nice." Lucian responded as he increased his speed by another magnitude appearing behind the horse before he landed a powerful kick reinforced by his dark light that sent Calix flying off of his horse.
Calix landed on the ground and began sliding towards the ring out boundary only to be caught by his horse who neighed furiously while flames and smoke left its nostrils.
Calix coughed and spit out blood as his armour reformed where it had been dented in at.
"Not bad but…" Calix began before he realized Lucian had rushed him again and was nearly directly in front of him. *tsk*
He clicked hit tongue before his dark horse dissipated into a mist that surrounded him causing his armour to begin flaming and a dark aura and energy to emenste as he met Lucian's kick head on with his reverse gripped sword.
To his surprise he met almost no resistance as Lucian used the momentum of the sword to launch himself away dodging a near match ending injury.
'I need to end this' Lucian thought to himself, as he pulled out his chain schythe and coated it in dark light.
What Lucian was doing with the dark light was a very basic skill that anyone with an affinity to any element could use. It was a simple enhancement skill where they would chanel their elemental energy into their body or their weapon.
Lucian spun the chain and flung it wrapping it around the sword in his opponents hand.
Seeing this his opponent yanked his sword timing it perfectly with Lucian's chain tightening around it pulling Lucian in at an impressive speed.
Calix had flipped the long sword and was now holding more traditionally. After yanking Lucian towards him he rushed towards Lucian closing the distance even faster.
Lucian's eyes went wide noticing how adept and adaptable his opponent was in combat. He shook his head and smiled lightly towards his opponent sending a chill down his spine.
The two finally met in the middle Lucian flying forward being dragged by the handle of his chain blade while Calix sprinted every second seemingly going faster.
Just as they met in the middle Lucian created a few plates of dark light suspended in the air around himself that he used to skimp around and maneuver into a position where he had complete leverage landing a flush knee in calix's face sending him flying out of the arena.
"Lucian wins round 5 vs Calix your next opponent will be teleported into the arena once their match is over." The automated voice sounded as calix's body turned into motes of light and he disappeared.

"He beat Calix…" resounded through the arena, Calix parents had build his fame and his hype understandably, but it was always expected of the light family to have some hidden dark horse.
