Min Rui hurriedly explained, reiterating his point—he was being sincere. He was just about to face the college entrance exam; it wasn't a life-and-death moment. There was no need for his family to make "sacrifices" for him. They didn't even let themselves speak loudly or laugh at home.
"Alright, mom understands. Starting tomorrow, the house will go back to how it used to be."
After hearing Min Rui's words, Kang Li didn't need to think much to guess that it was the tense atmosphere at home that was putting invisible pressure on her eldest son. It wasn't that he was personally stressed, but rather the family's behavior that made him feel it. That wasn't good.
Having realized this, Kang Li naturally had to make a change, to keep the family from being all tense and pressure Min Rui any further.
"Mom..."
"Hm?"
"I promise I'll get good grades!"
"Don't put too much pressure on yourself. When the time comes, just perform as normal, that's enough."
"Okay."
