In the silence, Kyle took a step forward.
He didn't use any natural laws.
Nor any form of energy.
Yet his figure was already before Yue.
He knelt in front of the woman, who had fallen from Mirabel's overwhelming power when Mirabel had rushed forward to seize the Celestial Symbol. Gently, one by one, Kyle pried Yue's trembling fingers from the ice sword she still clutched so tightly, his movements careful as he spoke softly.
"I'm sorry, my dear."
Yue's eyes blurred with tears.
Yet she didn't look away from the eyes staring at her. Not even for a moment.
Her lips trembled, and in the end, all she could do was choke out a few words.
"Why...? Where did you go...?"
Kyle tossed the ice sword he had taken from her hands aside before pulling Yue into his arms, his grip impossibly tight.
His unusually calm eyes flickered with remorse that no one around noticed.
