Chapter 9 - Big Case.

Back in the Mo's Mansion

After nearly two exhausting hours of persuasion and pleading from his parents, Li-Cheng finally agreed to the marriage. Needing some air, he decided to take a stroll outside the palace, flanked by his guards and chatting on the phone with Liu Chen.

As they walked farther from the palace walls, something unexpected happened. Li-Cheng, distracted by the conversation, accidentally bumped into two girls—one dressed in regal attire, the other in a maid's outfit. It was Xiotan and Jinxin.

"Oh my God! Are you blind?!" Xiotan shrieked as her phone slipped from her hand and hit the ground. Before anyone could react, Li-Cheng stepped on it by accident—crack! The sound was unmistakable.

Startled, Li-Cheng stared at the furious girl now crouched to pick up her phone.

"Are you kidding me?! Didn't you see me coming? Oh my gosh—look at this! You've broken my phone!" she yelled, pressing the power button in panic. The screen remained lifeless—just a dark, unresponsive void.

"Just great," she muttered angrily, pressing the power button over and over. "I don't know where you people are even headed, walking around like undestined soul! Absolute nonsense!"

One of the guards tried to speak up, "Madam, please. Mind your tone. Do you know who—"

"Shut that filthy mouth!" Xiotan snapped, whirling toward the guard. "Who should respect who here? Your so-called boss just destroyed my phone and you're lecturing me? Do you know how many days it took me to save up for that phone? Only for one blind moron to ruin it in seconds! Respect? You're joking."

Li-Cheng stood in stunned silence, watching the fiery girl fume like a tiny tornado. He'd never been yelled at in such a manner. Not by royals, not by elders, not even by his own parents. This girl? She didn't care.

"Why are you staring at me like that?" Xiotan barked, narrowing her eyes. "Let me tell you, if I don't get a new phone this minute, I'll make sure even the gods cry for you. Mcheew! Headless fowl."

"Xiotan, that's enough," Jinxin whispered, tugging at her sleeve. "It was a mistake, let's just go."

"No!" Xiotan refused, yanking her arm free. "I'm not going anywhere! Look at him, staring at me like I'm from another planet. What? Haven't you ever seen a woman before?"

"I have," Li-Cheng finally said, his voice calm but edged with sarcasm. "But never one this insane."

His reply caught her off guard.

He wasn't wrong—no one had ever dared speak to him this way. Not a single soul in his life had the nerve. But this rabbit? This fiery, mouthy rabbit was on a whole other level.

"So now I'm insane?" Xiotan scoffed. "That's rich—look who's talking. Even after what you did, you've still got the guts to speak back. You're a damn fool!"

The guards stood frozen, utterly speechless. Was it because someone had just insulted their master and lived to tell the tale? Or because even their master looked completely thrown off? Or maybe, just maybe, this girl was so wild, no one knew how to handle her.

Whatever the case, one thing was certain: this was no ordinary encounter.

This... was a big case.
