Attacking is different from defending; some super weapons that are inconvenient to move can't be used in offense, hence attackers often need multiple times the manpower to possibly break through the defenses.
The Titans are short in numbers; relying entirely on brute force, when the strength is insufficient, attacking becomes absurd.
And the wizards, holding the geographical advantage and defensive benefits, have an endless supply of logistics, not fearing a war of attrition.
A head-on confrontation is definitely not a wise move.
