I quickly threw on a hoodie and a pair of black jeans since it was kinda chilly outside. I arrived at Ivan's place and Daniella was the one who came to meet me.
"Hi Danny!" I smiled broadly at her.
"I thought Ivan said you were paralyzed " Danny said looking at me from head to toe
"He didn't lie… it was a temporary paralysis " I replied and entered .
"Ivan said you needed my help …and where is he by the way " I asked looking around for him
"He's in his room I guess, follow me " she replied and led me to her room. She picked up some few clothes on the hanger and threw it on the bed.
"So I made some few options so help me make my final decision " Daniella said , folding her arms around her chest.
"Whose birthday party are you attending?" I asked
"My best friend "
"A boy or girl "
"Girl!" She rolled her eyes
"Then I think the pink dress is okay…it's so cute" I said picking up the dress and bringing it closer to her.
"I love it !" Daniella replied and put it on. I styled her hair which fitted her perfectly. She was looking so beautiful and she wouldn't stop praising me. I checked the door several times, wondering why Ivan didn't come in to check on us.
"Does he even know I'm here " I thought, looking at his door.
"I'm almost late Ivan ! Can we leave now!" Daniella shouted
"Is he going with you?" I asked
"Yeah he's dropping me off"
"I see… will take my leave then " I replied
"Wait! Don't you want to see him?"
"Who ?"
"My brother of course!"
"Erm no !" I lied
"Alright then thanks for the help "
"You welcome sweetheart!" I hugged her and made an attempt to leave
"Are you leaving already!" Ivan came out . He was in a black shirt which was buttoned halfway, revealing his chest. "Why does he always have to look hot !" I thought, staring at him as if I was seeing him for the first time in my life.
"Erm yeah.. is there something else?"
"Erm , actually do you mind coming with us?"
"With you … to the party!" I exclaimed
"Yeah.. I'm just dropping her " Ivan replied, flipping the key around his finger.
"I'm only agreeing because of Danny !" I replied remembering Alice's phrase . Ivan smiled and shook his head . The drive to the party was full of music, which most of them were Daniella's choice. She sung along happily and Ivan and I nodded to the beat . We reached Daniella's best friend's house, it was actually a mansion. The house was so big with a large garden in front. Some kids were trooping in when we arrived and she was so excited an anxious to get out.
"Do I really look pretty?" She asked Ivan who nodded and smiled at her. Ivan and I accompanied her inside and made sure she was seen by her friend's parents before we decided to leave and pick her up at 8pm . Ivan had a few crushes from Danny's friends who came to ask him for pictures. He didn't feel comfortable to take pictures with the kids but I forced him to .
"Did you really have to make me do that!" He said when we got inside the car.
"Did you not enjoy the attention!" I teased.
"Attention ! From these kids! You're so silly Amara!" He said and I laughed.
"What's there to be so embarrassed about taking pictures with your little admirers "
"Do you really not know?"
"Know what?"
"They are going to paste these pictures in their fucking washrooms!" He rubbed his hands through his hair, that thing he does when he's anxious, nervous or driving crazy.
"Oh yeah I forgot about that part!" I laughed.
"Where are we going?" I asked when he bypassed the route to our neighborhood.
"You will find out soon "
"I have school tomorrow Ivan !… and I sneaked out!" I replied
"There is no harm in breaking the rules once a while " he smirked and sped up. I put on my seatbelt since he was driving way faster than before. We arrived at our destination which was actually a flat house.
"Erm … what's up with this place?" I asked
"Movie night!" He replied
"Is it a movie house or something cause this doesn't look like a cinema to me !"
"Can you be silent for once " he sighed
"No ! What if you end up killing me "
"Wouldn't that be awesome!" He smirked ,grabbed me by the wrist and pulled me inside. My jaw dropped when we entered. The house that look cool and peaceful from outside was actually the opposite in the inside.
"Ivan !" One guy got up from the crowd and walked towards us . Yes I saw a crowd cause in the living room was like seven guys and seven ladies, each boy paired with a girl in a couch, all of them watching a movie from one big mounted screen.
"What's up Harry !" Ivan gave him a shoulder hug .
"Is she your new chick !" Harry said and I rolled my eyes
"Naa she's my girl !" Ivan replied and threw his arms around my shoulder. "Did he just call me his girl… when did I agree to be his girl!" I gave him a dead look.
"You've got great taste man!" Harry said and shot me a flirty look
"I'm Harry !" He shook my hand
"Amara!" I feigned a smile.
Ivan greeted some few friends and I wondered how his social life was like. There were no familiar friends of his amidst these people and I wondered where he knew them from. We sat in one of the empty couches and a very skinny lady walked towards us . Ivan whispered something to her and she left .
"what the hell is going on?" I asked , literally confused with the whole setting.
"We are here to see a movie " he replied
"A movie! Why this flat house in particular?"
"It's much fun here ! You will love it trust me!" He smiled.
"Fine !" I sighed as the skinny lady walked towards us again with a large tray. Ivan thanked her and she walked away . On the tray was a large popcorn, Doritos , white and brown chocolate bars , two large glasses of milk shakes and gums .
"Where from all these ?" I asked
"Do you not like them?"
"That's not what I meant!, I'm just wondering where all that came from…"
"Well this place is actually a movie house and I just ordered these stuffs!"
"I see" I said looking at the whole tray. That was a lot for a movie and I actually love everything on the tray. The movie had already begun when we arrived but it was actually an interesting movie. Ivan held the popcorn and will occasionally look at me. I also caught onto the fact that we were the only people that seem distant from each other. All of the couples in the room sat closer to each other with either the ladies head on his partner's laps or on his shoulders and a few of them were also kissing. My face flushed when I turn to look at Ivan and caught him staring at me . He smirked, and pulled me closer to him, causing my heartbeat to intensify.
"I just told Harry you're my girl …and I think he's watching us !" Ivan said
"I never asked you to lie" I whispered.
"Can't you be my girl for tonight!" He said and I raised my head to look at him. He locked his gaze in mine and slowly brought his lips closer to mine. I wanted to pull away but I could feel Harry's gaze on us , so I gave in and kissed him. Honestly I was dying for this kiss. Ivan and I weren't a thing but if I could remember I've made out with him more than I could think of . We pulled away from our kiss and he placed my head on his shoulder.
"This is how we're supposed to be!" He said and I hid a smile. The movie ended around 7pm and it was actually one of the best movies I've seen in my life . Ivan helped me up and asked me to wait for him in his car . I didn't know what he was up to but I didn't want to keep pestering him with questions. I nodded and watched him vanish among the crowd. As I made an attempt to leave, I was stopped by Harry.
"Amara right!" He said holding a piece of cigarette in between his fingers.
"Yes !" I replied wondering why he approached me.
"You're such a lovely girl!" He said bringing his hands closer to my hair but I stepped back.
"I don't like people touching my hair sorry !" I said trying not to be rude.
"I see … you seem loyal unlike the rest " he said with a smirk.
"Pardon me ? Loyal?" I asked confused
"Yeah you're different… you are his girl right?"
"Why are you asking so many questions I thought Ivan told you already !"
"Well … I find it hard to believe" he replied
"Why?"
"Because he's Ivan!" He chuckled.
"Is there something you are hinting at ?" I asked curiously
"No ! No ! No ! … Just be careful!" He said, smirked at me and walked away. I stood there speechless and wondering what kind of speech that was about. It seems like there was something he wanted me to know but didn't have the courage to tell me . I stretched my neck hoping to find him but in front of me came Ivan .
"Geez ! You startled me !" I sighed.
"I asked you to wait in the car so why are you still here !" He said in a cold voice which actually sent chills through my spine.
"Why do you sound so serious!" I replied looking him straight in the eyes as if that will give me the answer.
"I was just worried about you I'm sorry!" He said and pulled me along him to where his car was parked.
"Let go off me !" I shove his hands away angrily. I didn't like the fact that he always does that to me .
"I'm sorry Amara , I didn't mean to hurt you !" He said and moved towards me. He raised up my head with his hands so I was looking him in the eyes.
"What do you want from me Ivan?" I asked
"You already know that Amara!"
"I don't think I know " I said and opened the car's door.
"Wait Amara! Please!" He held my hand.
"Will you tell me ?" I asked and he nodded .
"I want you to be my girl!" He said turning me to face him.
"For tonight?"
"No … for … ever…!" He replied and I could see the spark in his eyes.
"What about Chloe?"
"Chloe and I are no more Amara !" He rubbed his hands through his hair.
"That's what you said the last time but I saw you with her again!"
"You're never going to believe me right!" He said and showed me their chat .
"So?" He said after I was done looking at it .
"I don't know Ivan! I'm scared!" I said, lowering my head.
"Look at me Amara ! I've never felt this way towards anyone … I get nervous when I am around you and it sometimes pisses me off to think you have this effect over me ! I feel so vulnerable Amara ! I love you!! " he said and I could feel my heart stop for a while. "Did Ivan just say love !" I thought.
"Please say something Amara ! " he said feeling so hopeless.
"I love you too Ivan!" I said and kissed him. I could tell he was surprised as I was the one kissing him but he caught on and kissed me back.
