Walking down the streets, Curley could clearly feel that the state of Hotwind Port had changed. She didn't know where the problem lay, but just felt that this place seemed to be on a different path.
There were more cars on the streets, and human soldiers were becoming fewer, while unarmed humans were increasing. The malls reopened, each shop brilliantly lit with decorations.
For some reason, the business of all the small traders was getting better. The Tang Army Soldiers returning for rest from the front lines had lots of money, and they were willing to spend it, respectfully treating the locals without bullying or exploiting the civilians.
Sometimes they even gave tips, rewarding the kids who shined their shoes with candies and giving the girls at the laundromat soap, generously like a group of tourists on vacation.
The ships newly arriving at Hotwind Port not only transported large amounts of supplies but also hundreds of civilian cars and countless engineering vehicles.
