There were innumerable quirks of all kinds in this world, but the majority of them were either useless or weak. However, the likelihood of having children with significant potential Quirks remained high. They could only choose between being a hero or a villain, as if it were a curse.
It was a never-ending cycle. There would always be new villains in a world where a child with a quirk was born every minute, every second. For this reason, it was the responsibility of today's heroes to educate the next generation. There was one exception, a location where a different course had been followed, but that was currently taking place in many parts of the nation.
This was another experiment that could have gone horribly wrong, much like the modifications made at U.A.
I guess.
(City of Musutafu)
Allen started his first day using the Superman template.
It was his first day, so instead of leaving Musutafu, he took a flight around the city.
Conflicts between the two sides were frequent because, despite its size and abundance of villains, it also had a large number of heroes.
"Mm?"
"Is something wrong?" Through his earpiece, Kaina inquired.
Together with U.A. personnel, Kaina, Nezu, and All Might were responsible for tracking Allen constantly, keeping an eye on him, and helping when needed.
"I hear trouble north of my position," Allen said, using his telescopic vision to narrow his eyes.
Nezu was turned to by an operator. "Director, there have been reports of an ongoing raid."
Two hero agencies working with the police had found a building that belonged to a criminal organization.
The idea was to launch a swift attack before the criminals could respond. One of the bad guys, though, possessed a Detection Quirk.
Because of this, the villains had barricaded themselves inside the structure and were firing randomly from the windows. Therefore, before attempting a forced entry, they were waiting for more powerful heroes.
Allen paused above the structure and looked around, saying, "I see..." "A total of thirteen individuals. There are five on the first floor, three on the second, two on the fourth, three on the fifth, and an empty third."
All Might gave a nod. "Obtaining information is, of course, the cornerstone of any operation. You'll now devise a plan—
"All Might..." Kaina cut in. "He's already inside."
"Huh?"
I guess.
The villain's leader and two dependable subordinates stood on the fifth floor.
"What do we do, boss?!"
"Remain composed!" the man snarled. He had a huge tiger tattoo on his back, which was visible through his yukata. "We'll cause a commotion. Let them believe we're prepared to fight to the very end, and then we'll use the subterranean tunnel to get away."
"That's a great plan, but there's one issue."
The unfamiliar voice caused the leader's eyes to enlarge. When he attempted to stand, the ceiling collapsed, slamming his head into the ground.
The other men turned on their Quirks right away. Allen used the villain leader as a shield when one of them spat tar at him.
"Ahhh!"
The hot tar burned the leader, causing him to scream in agony.
"I'm sorry, boss!"
"Bastard!"
The other villain also launched sharp needles from his hands using his Quirk.
"Hero Shield!" Allen let out a cry as he blocked the attack with the leader once more.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"
The leader screamed pitifully as the needles pierced his skin.
"How dare you do that?!"
The two villains couldn't believe it. They had just witnessed a hero, completely unashamed, use someone as a shield.
Confused, Allen blinked. "Me? You attacked him; I did nothing."
They looked at him incredulously. Although Allen hadn't attacked their boss, wasn't he the cause of everything?
Allen's face softened. In addition, this good citizen bravely defended me against the attacks. I'm moved.
The leader looked at Allen like a monster and snapped out of his daze, briefly forgetting his pain.
"Boss!"
Five more villains stormed through the door. They were furious to see their leader in such a pitiful condition, with Allen holding him by the neck.
One yelled, "Kill him!!" and then used his Quirk.
The leader cried out, "Don't do it!" but it was too late.
The others trailed behind.
Allen was hit by a chain, a bone spear, a sphere of shadows, an electric blast, and a fireball.
"Noooo!"
Allen yelled, "Hero Shield!" while employing his defensive strategy.
"AHHH NOOO HELP!! AAARRGHH!!"
All Might, Nezu, Kaina, and the operators at U.A. listened pale-faced to the villain's frantic cries. They had anticipated that Allen would be an unconventional hero, but was this acceptable?
All Might spoke, but he had pledged to let Allen handle everything.
Sweat trickled down his face as he muttered, "He knows what he's doing..."
I guess.
It was already too late when the subordinates realized their error. With his eyes rolled back, their leader, who had once been a symbol of strength and respect, now appeared to be a beaten dog.
"You're so cruel," Allen remarked, his face dejected as he shook his head. "Observe what you've done to him. Are you heartless?
It's you who is heartless!
"I can't let you continue your crimes for the sake of justice and love!"
Allen took the leader by the ankles with a heart full of justice. The lackeys went white.
"Hero Sword!" Before actually using the man as a weapon, Allen made this declaration.
The first subordinate was slammed into the wall by his own boss without even reacting.
"You're a monster!"
Another yelled, only to regret it as Allen lunged at him and struck him with his "Hero Sword."
Sad cries resounded once more, this time for Nezu and All Might as well as the heroes outside, who froze.
The building doors flew open and a number of villains fled before they could comprehend what was going on. They initially believed it to be the last assault, but one by one, the villains fell to their knees in front of the heroes and police.
"Please help us!"
"That guy is a demon!"
"I don't want this!"
Unable to understand what had happened, the heroes swallowed nervously. Then there were footsteps coming from within.
They looked at each other and got ready. It had to be something terrifying because whatever was inside had made ruthless villains cry like kids.
Step
Tension was in the air as the footsteps became more audible.
Everyone was in disbelief when the figure eventually appeared.
Allen glanced at the heroes prepared to fight and the shaking police pointing their weapons at him.
"Don't worry," Allen said with assurance. "I already took care of everything."
The leader was flung to the ground by him. The man had burns, cuts, and bruises all over his body, and his clothes were ripped. He was foaming at the mouth and had rolled back his eyes, but Allen was satisfied that he was still alive.
"You don't have to thank me. I act in this way for the benefit of society. Allen started to drift off. "I'd say that was a job well done."
Are you serious, Batman?
Superman: Allen...
Raven: At least nobody perished.
Kara I believe it went well!
Rick You cowardly bastard! Hehe!
Rebecca I anticipated this would occur! Hehe!
Rangiku: I'm sure everyone regrets giving you unrestricted freedom.
Ignoring the criticism, Allen continued to look for a place where the full weight of justice could be delivered.
I guess.
(In a cocaine/flour factory)
Allen lifted the boss by grabbing him by the neck. The scared man would not confess.
"Everything is legal, I assure you! We are simply a typical factory that processes flour.
The boss felt more confident when he saw Allen stay silent. He was certain Allen had no proof. He might even file a lawsuit against him for breaking in.
Allen said, "I see..." before dragging the man to a wall and smashing through it.
Many undernourished men and women, taken aback by the circumstances, were on the other side.
"Good!" exclaimed All Might joyfully.
"Allen's X-ray vision is incredible!" Nezu continued.
Kaina grinned with pride. "This flour factory was suspected of being a drug distributor, but there was never any proof—now, with Allen, that's changed. It's a huge victory!"
"Ahhh!"
They were cut off by a scream. Allen was now seen by the cameras pushing the manager's head into a heap of white powder.
"What's the matter? You said it was flour, didn't you? Allen grinned. "Then a little flour won't hurt you."
"No, I apologize! No! I'm going to overdose!"
Allen grinned and said, "Relax..." "It's simply flour."
After turning off the cameras in silence, Kaina made the decision to go get some water.
Nezu attempted to speak but was unable. All Might, meanwhile, was pale and shaky.
I guess.
Crime was an almost universal law in a city this size.
Allen didn't slow down even though he had already solved two cases. He went straight there when his super hearing detected a group of men pleading for forgiveness.
It was an alley, the ideal location for a robbery. Allen accelerated and touched down, pausing before the ground cracked.
"Stop right there, villain!" Allen angrily yelled.
Knuckleduster turned to face the thug after ceasing to beat him.
"What are you doing, brat—"
Superfast, Allen covered Knuckleduster's mouth. Aizawa had seen Allen and he were known to be friendly, but things had changed since then. Since Allen was considered a hero, he had a duty to apprehend criminals.
Allen muttered, "Play along!" and took a step back.
"It's not very honorable, sir, to assault good citizens."
"Huh? These guys? They're robbers," Knuckleduster muttered, obviously perplexed but not foolish. He could tell what was going on because he saw Allen wearing an earpiece and his hero costume.
"I understand. "I'll handle it," Allen said, gesturing for Knuckleduster to go.
Rather, the man smiled.
"I recognize you—you're that famous kid from the Sports Festival."
What are you doing?
Allen was aware of Knuckleduster's occasional lack of common sense, but at this moment it was clear that he ought to go. What was he contemplating?
Knuckleduster gave his knuckles a crack. "I'm a vigilante, kid. I love a good fight, but I also take down villains illegally. What are your thoughts?
Allen grimaced. Knuckleduster was a complete musclehead when it came to fighting, something he had forgotten.
"Wait—"
Knuckleduster punched him in the face before he could finish speaking. Even though it didn't hurt, Allen's smile vanished.
Angry, Allen snatched Knuckleduster, shoved him into a garbage can, and threw him into a different alley. He then messaged Koichi to come get him as soon as possible.
*Cough*
Kaina said, "Everything alright, Allen?" They could typically hear what was going on with him, but they had to rely on street cameras or any other location they could connect to see what was happening. Since there were obviously none in an alley, Allen was free to report anything he pleased.
"Ugh, the villain got away after using some weird Quirk."
"Are you okay?!" Kaina became anxious right away, forgetting that Allen had only been fighting All For One for a few days.
"I'm fine, but my ego's bruised, so I'm going to sit for a bit..."
Allen said that, switched off the earpiece, and moved in the direction of the three punks Knuckleduster had been beating earlier.
"Gentlemen, I hope the public doesn't learn about what happened here."
The three thugs had just witnessed their attacker being shoved into a trash can and treated like a toy. They had already suffered severe beatings. They were afraid of Allen.
"Because that would make me angry... and you really don't want to see me angry, right?"
Allen, you're behaving like Homelander, Annie.
Kimiko: Unpleasant recollections...
Maeve I do remember that bastard horribly.
"Shit, that's true," Allen grinned and coughed. "Good thing you understand."
Allen then tied their hands and feet, beat all three of them, and left them as gifts for the police, along with a note outlining their crimes.
For the remainder of the day, Allen continued to administer justice, and by the time he was done, everyone was talking about him.
Kaina was waiting for him when he got home. The woman appeared worn out; she had no idea how draining it would be to deal with an Allen like this.
After dinner, they retired to bed.
Allen checked the hundreds of messages while already in bed. While some complained about how difficult the training was, Allen was pleased with how much they were learning.
He did, however, also read messages from Ryuko, Mirko, and Nemuri that alternated between compliments and criticism of the girls.
"I hope they survive," Allen thought, feeling sorry for them and a little guilty because he was the reason their guardians had adopted them.
Nejire, who seemed to be in between an older sister and a friend to Allen, also sent him a few messages. He had never actually met her, or at least not that he could recall, so it was odd. Nevertheless, he had learned about the type of girl she was through these exchanges, and he had no ill will toward her.
I guess.
(The following day)
Allen made the decision to leave Mustafu City and expand his horizons this time.
Additionally, he made the decision to take his hero work a little more seriously. He should behave more professionally in serious situations, even though it was enjoyable to troll villains.
Allen flew toward Tokyo with that in mind. All Might had alerted him that a building had collapsed, trapping hundreds of people and possibly killing them.
"Allen, if you don't want to do this, it's fine," All Might said. This kind of disaster always results in casualties. All the same, Allen was still young, and they wanted him to avoid death as soon as possible.
"Don't worry," Allen said with a smile. He wouldn't be affected by a few corpses in comparison to what he had witnessed.
Allen arrived and looked up at the scene. Everywhere you looked, firefighters, rescue personnel, and support heroes were working to free and rescue people. But there were also bodies being transported in black bags.
No matter how hard heroes try, people will die. Everyone cannot be saved. That's the truth.
Even if Allen was a jerk, he wouldn't make jokes in this kind of circumstance.
A "..."
Allen then used a different template instead of the Superman one.
[Template: Tatsumaki no Senritsu]
[Source: One Punch Man]
Both his hair and eyes turned green. An emerald aura enveloped his body.
"So..."
I guess.
"What a tragedy..." Mt. Lady, who had also shown up, was offering assistance, but she felt helpless. She could swiftly clear all the debris, but if she acted carelessly, she might kill someone because she didn't know where everyone was.
"Mt. Lady, you can move this wall—there's someone underneath!" exclaimed a hero with huge ears.
"Got it!" The wall turned a shade of emerald green and started to slowly levitate just as she was about to take action.
Hundreds of tons of debris started to lift off the ground everywhere, gradually exposing all the dead and trapped victims.
Everyone was incredulous. There were hundreds of tons of floating debris—who could have done this?
"What are you doing? Hurry up and do your job!"
All of the heroes in attendance heard a reprimanding voice. They resumed their rescue efforts right away. The final person was extracted in a little more than twenty minutes, and the debris started to come down.
Allen turned around and took off after it was finished.
Kaina started to say, "Allen..." but stopped herself.
"What?"
Will you not claim the credit? Will you not conduct an interview? Will you not boast to everyone that you succeeded? The same response applied to each of those questions: No.
It would be a different matter if he kicked the asses of villains.
Kaina grinned and said, "It's nothing..."
Nezu and All Might looked at each other, grinned, and nodded.
Allen persisted in enforcing justice in his own manner, punishing criminals in some places and kicking the butts of villains in others.
There were no more incidents at the end of the second day.
Both the third and the fourth were essentially the same.
Allen encountered a number of villains on the fifth and sixth days, but none of them threatened him.
Allen's fame had become widespread during this period.
Because of his behavior toward villains, people initially believed Allen would be dangerous and troublesome. But he acted differently in situations involving accidents and natural disasters where lives were in danger. Many people started to realize what kind of hero Allen would be as a result.
They also caught a glimpse of his true strength!
I guess.
(Seventh Day)
"Control tower, this is flight 343AB bound for Tokyo—we have an emergency!"
"This is the control tower; state your situation."
The pilot sounded anxious. "We—we're going down! Total failure in engines two, three, and four!" he exclaimed. "We'll have to make an emergency landing!"
"I get it. Heroes will be prepared on site, and we'll clear the runway. Good luck."
Hundreds of people were on board the commercial aircraft as it quickly descended over Tokyo.
Even though they were the future, 21st-century aircraft were still in use, albeit with better structures and designs. There were suspicions of intentional sabotage because a sudden failure like losing three turbines was almost impossible.
The pilot and co-pilot were anxious because if they crashed at this speed, hundreds of lives would be lost.
"May God protect us..."
The only thing the passengers could do was cling to their seats and pray.
"There's no need to pray to God—I'm here."
The turbulence subsided and the speed began to drop before they could figure out where the voice had come from.
The veteran pilot grinned as the younger co-pilot cried out in bewilderment, "What's happening?"
"What is taking place is what is expected to take place. Doesn't a new generation take the place of the old, All Might?
In order to protect the passengers, Allen lowered the plane's speed gradually while pressing his hands against it beneath it.
Allen muttered, "I'm starting to think this is my fault."
Why Artoria?
Wednesday: Because a plane crashes every time he dons a superhero cape. It is almost poetic.
"That's not funny."
After gaining control of the aircraft, Allen directed it down onto the runway by concentrating on his task.
Despite their experience, many heroes gasped when they saw Allen holding up a jumbo jet that weighed hundreds of tons. Hundreds of eyes watched, and dozens of cameras recorded and broadcast.
After landing, even Allen was exhausted because he had to precisely regulate his strength to prevent the plane from being damaged. It was much harder than just hitting something hard.
Camera flashes instantly blinded Allen as he floated out from underneath the aircraft. He went to the plane's door to make sure everyone disembarked safely because he didn't want to deal with reporters.
Every aspect of this Allen was different from the one people had seen at the UA Sports Festival and the troll from recent days, including his face, eyes, new suit, and serious manner. This Allen had the power to astound people. By tomorrow, this image would unknowingly become ingrained in people's memories and retinas all over the world.
I guess.
The practice week ended with that. The students would congregate at UA once more, each having acquired knowledge and experience that made them closer to becoming heroes in the workplace.
And one had come out of them who would usher in a new era, or at least that's what a lot of people had started to think.
Without even being aware of his influence on the world, Allen woke up that day feeling lethargic.
