"Are you ready?"
Edward looked toward Levina.
They stood outside the temporary home in Clover, directly in front of the entrance door. Levina remained a half-step behind him, her hands held together in front of her as she stared anxiously at the door.
"I think…"
Her answer was quiet.
Edward looked at her for a moment.
Then he reached out and gently patted her head.
"Do not be so nervous," he said. "Everyone inside is kind. Treat them as your extended family."
Levina nodded.
She tried to smile, though the tension in her shoulders remained.
Meeting Edward again had already been overwhelming enough. Meeting the people he had grown close to, his other children, the women around him, and the people who now lived with him, felt even more frightening.
But Edward was here.
That made it easier.
He raised his hand and rang the bell.
Almost immediately, hurried footsteps echoed from the other side of the door.
Then it opened.
Tihana stood there.
