"Dad, I'm so hungry~"
"Chloe," Nyrel called tiredly, his fist resting against his cheek as he stared out the window, "you've said that three times already. Are you a broken record or something?"
"Shut up, Big Bro!" Chloe shot back immediately.
She leaned across the backseat and messed up his hair with both hands before he could move away.
"You're going to eat too. I know you're hungry!"
"What the heck?!"
Nyrel turned toward her with an irritated glare and pushed her hand away from his head.
Chloe only smirked.
"Hey, both of you, calm down," their mother scolded from the front passenger seat.
"Nyr started it!"
Chloe's smirk vanished in an instant, replaced by the innocent, wounded expression of a victim who had clearly done nothing wrong.
Nyrel stared at her in disbelief.
"Oh God," he muttered. "She lies as easily as she breathes, mom."
"Stupid brother!"
Chloe stuck her tongue out at him.
