Sani and Kasha headed to the parlor. While they were sitting and watching TV, the pilot Shinimo and the base's chief of staff entered.
Sani got up and went to them, explaining that the girl had been with her and that she had been looking after her all day. The pilot Shinimo instructed Sani to summon the girl to stand before the chief.
Kasha stood in front of them, answering the questions being asked, all of which were about the pilot Shinimo.
The chief was impressed by her bravery. He walked to the base in search of her sister and offered Kasha a position at the base alongside the pilot, Shinimo, explaining that the pilot would determine the tasks she would carry out and that he was responsible for guarding her.
Sani looked at Kasha and signaled her to accept the offer. Kasha agreed to the chief's request and smiled, saying, "I will help you search for my sister and the pilot."
The chief laughed and told her, "But do not disappear from our sight."
Kasha replied, "I will only disappear in urgent cases, and I ask that you do not follow me until I return."
The chief asked the pilot Shinimo to fulfill her request. After the chief of staff left the room, Shinimo remained with her.
Kasha said, "You are my guard; you will follow my words."
Shinimo replied, "Yes, I am ready to serve."
Kasha continued, "You will take me back to the university and land your plane in the middle of it, with everyone watching."
Shinimo responded, "But that's not possible."
Kasha asked, "Can you say it's a necessity?"
Shinimo smiled and said, "She's a smart girl. Who is your teacher?"
Kasha replied, "My sister Akemi."
Shinimo said, "In the morning we will fly. I must leave now as I have other tasks, but we will meet soon. Before I go, I must tell you that you look beautiful, and the pink dress makes you look like a flower grown in the garden of your home."
Sani asked Shinimo to stop talking because Kasha was crying.
Sani said, "Are you crying with joy?"
Kasha replied, "I miss my father's house back in the village."
The pilot asked, "Where?"
Kasha pointed with her hands toward Shirakawa-go and Kokyama.
