Mrs. Fairchild was here, tending to her flowers and plants.
Argent was still a bit chilly, so the plants had to be kept in the greenhouse and couldn't be moved outside yet.
"Mrs. Fairchild," Megan Langdon called out sweetly.
"Megan, what brings you here? Didn't you go to Jansburg to teach?" Mrs. Fairchild asked, a little surprised.
"I've sorted out my work arrangements. I don't officially start until the first of next month, so I took the opportunity to come back and see you."
"That's so thoughtful of you. Since you've decided to work in the country, you should take some time to get used to the environment. You don't need to be running around and making special trips back just to see me."
"I don't have anything else to do anyway, and I missed you."
Mrs. Fairchild looked at Megan Langdon and sighed inwardly.
Zoe and Noelle had both told her not to let Megan get her hopes up. Her third son truly had no such intentions, but she could see Megan's feelings as clear as day.
