Grey watched as golo launched himself at the frog kin with a pillar quickly dropping Tony off his shoulder only to fall face first in some nearby mud.
Grey stopped for half a second to charge his body with energy while giving Tony a mocking grin. "Flowing speed!"
Tony saw the face grey made before grey disappeared releasing a small boom were he was standing a moment ago. "Did that idiot name his move and shout it out loud?"
Grey was moving faster now making everything feel like slow motion. After his week of training he was able to now enter a slower but more controlled version of what he did to make it home on time.
Golo landed near the female goblin creating a massive earth spike barrier around them wounding three frog kin. "Hey moqui why are you here on this side of the mountain and how are using runes? I thought you were runeless?"
Moqui looked angrily at golo "shut up and fight or just give me your corpse!" She shouted.
Golo looked at her strangely as the blood from the spiked frogs around them gathered and formed a armor around golo
Grey was running up trees to kick any nearby archers down when a invisible hand caught him by the leg before slamming back down into the ground.
A muscular silver frog man jumped down his skin shining like metal. "I noticed something strange happening to our archers so laid in wait… only for a mere rabbit to be killing my men?"
Grey looked slightly dazed as his head spun slightly "Nuh uh I no kill em yet!" Grey quickly regained his full consciousness and jumped back a bit. "I mean I haven't done any real damage yet so don't make me, I'm really tired of meaningless fights."
The silver frog kin smiled before leaning in as if to whisper something.
Greys ears perked up at this as he heard a strange sound but powerful rumble sound.
The next moment the frog was in front of his trying to headbutt grey.
Thanks to greys natural speed boosted by his rune he barley noticed him.
Grey immediately created shield made of sound only for it to crack sending grey flying with a blood trailing down his mouth.
Grey quickly used his sound platforms to jump back on land still coughing up blood.
"Hmm that sound must have been his legs charging up and his rune is definitely that metal coating his body but how did he sneak up on me before?" Grey looked around and couldn't see anything so he quickly used echo location to scan the area only realize something horrific as he turned left to block a incoming attack.
An invisible leg sent grey flying again but this time he saw it. The metal frog user could also turn invisible probably due to a trait and upon the moment he attacked he used his naturally powerful legs to quickly bounce around the trees seemingly disappeared.
"Heh lucky me a powerful defensive user with speed close to mine and invisibility. The only thing I can counter is his invisibility but this will be difficult."
Grey felt him charging up a jump and quickly faced the direction the frog was coming from in a combat stance
The invisible from was slightly surprised but smiled even more as he followed through.
Grey was about to attack the invisible frog that was flying towards him when light around the frog suddenly grew immensely. "FLASHBANG!"
Grey was painfully blinded only to be slammed into the ground and kicked into a tree. "How was that I saw you earlier call out your move and I gotta admit that was pretty fun."
Grey slowly pulled himself up "I'll give it a solid six, it could've been a eight if you didn't use it on me though."
The frog just laughed obnoxiously. "Hahaha yeah I guess so. The names Jim and I'm going to be the next swamp lord."
Grey stared at him for a few seconds awkwardly "coool~ you know we are surrounded by mountains and forests right?"
"It's fine after we kill you guys and take over this area we will turn it into a mash after a few years."
Grey quickly scanned the area around him while keeping Jim talking "so why are you guys in this area invading my friends territory."
He saw Tony quickly dashing around for short burst leaving a golden trail of light while shooting fireballs from his mouth at the four frog kin surrounding him.
Golo was much better being bombarded by elemental arrows from a distance. It seemed after he killed five of them they refused to let him get too close.
And moqui his friend was surrounded by bodies with no heartbeats that moved to fight for her as if still alive barley keeping her from being hurt.
"Oh I didn't know we missed some goblins with such a diverse friend group? Hmm I'm sure we killed all the residents of the land welp we'll just finish the job now."
Grey thoughts turned to golo the only true survivor while cocoa did die she came back somehow and from what golo said earlier his new friend lived on the other side of the mountain.
'Lost whisper' grey thought while seemingly muttering to himself only Tony, golo and moqui heard his voice in their ears.
"I see we're all struggling any more and we'll be killed. I already found their main base lets escape and return when we're better prepared."
Golo tightly gritted his teeth leaving the other two in silence while grey waited on golo.
"FINE!" Golo shouted after a few seconds of hesitation before noticing Tony and moqui were in pretty hurt. While he and grey seemed to be in stalemate.
Grey continued his whispering only he was now running around doing Jim who was jumping around as if he was a living bullet.
"Get together and create a dome before traveling underground to the place we were at earlier I'll create a gas cloud to by us time and catch up."
Golo quickly threw a few massive earth walls into the treeline and towards the ones attacking Tony before he ran towards moqui.
Tony took the opportunity of a few of his attackers being crushed to repeatedly dash to golo.
Golo then wrapped them up in a earth dome before the ground under them opened creating a tunnel for them to escape.
Grey ran up to the dome that was now being surrounded by very angry frog kin while Jim was still chasing from behind.
The green cloud rune on greys body started glowing as it was fed more energy every second.
The moment he landed atop the dome he mimicked the chimeras primal roar stunning all creatures nearby for a few seconds before he released a massive green mist from his body.
Few were trapped in the mist immediately coughed up heaps of blood but most quickly jumped out the mist and into the treelines.
But as everyone watched from afar to their surprise the green mist kept spreading eventually wrapping around a wide area that spread pass the area they were just fighting in.
Grey sat alone in a green fog breathing rapidly. "Crap that took a lot of energy but it looks like they haven't noticed that even though this poison is deadly that only when closer to the source."
Grey quickly ran off and regrouped with his friends. While Jim had everyone surrounding the mist to be ready for another attack.
Now far away grey was resting along a tree with Tony now recharging his energy. "Since when can you share your energy?" He quipped.
"Well you mom tought me some neat ways to utilize raw energy and since I could drain it from others she thought I could also share it."
Tony stated proudly.
"Neat!" Was all that grey said while enjoying the pleasant feeling.
Golo turned to moqui "we have a base a ways away but we're not all goblin would you like to join us?"
She shrugged "My whole clan died to a apostle attack and the only other survivor was a useless old man that died immediately after. TWICE! I mean how can you be useless as a zombie." Everyone stared at her strangely.
"Ahem anyways I came here hoping your tribe could help till I build my own. But you know those frog men took over and started killing my zombies."
"Oh yeah how are you doing that without a rune?" Golo asked curiously.
"I learned ancient shaman magic names hold power over souls you know so if you can twist soul essence beyond its natural flow in nature and your body you can shape it how you want. I only use corpses because they are efficient I mean your friend over there does something similar." She said pointing at grey.
"Me?" Grey looked confused beats look of realization appeared on his face
"Oh you mean the technique I use to supplement my body? Does that count as shaman magic though?"
"It does shaman magic is basically using the raw energy of yourself or nature and shaping it instead of using your rune as a soul conduit."
Golo looked at the two repeatedly "hmm ok we'll continue this later for now I'll bury the mirror gate crystal so we can return later, let's visit the council's main base next."
Grey nodded with determination as everyone entered a hole golo made.
