After running for nearly twenty two hours straight greys body was now shriveled up visibly even through his blood stained exoskeleton.
His unconscious body kept moving him forward despite its condition whilst slowly losing momentum.
His Red hue that surrounded his body seemed to be flickering in and out of existence struggling to not die out before it released one final bright glow.
The final burst of energy boosted his body even more making everything pass by like a fading dream.
After three seconds of maximum speed the glow disappeared causing his body to loose all power within it making grey stumble and roll and crazy speeds crashing into many trees along the way.
After crashing into many trees greys body was laid out halfway inside a thick marsh tree surrounded by blood and shards of his exoskeleton that seemed to take the brunt of the impacts.
He laid there heavily gasping for air while slowly bleeding.
Karma woke up quickly hearing and ran outside after hearing multiple explosions in the distance.
He ran towards the center of town where plenty of soldiers were waiting ready to fight at a moments notice.
Karma run up to curiously "what the heck's going on here?"
Winter looked pretty worried "The guards said that a Red light of energy came from the north and came close by but passed us and crashed somewhere in the west. Do you think it could be the foxes?"
Grey stared at the west gate when he was blinded by a sudden bright green dot coming from the that seemed to slowly be fading.
Chief willow was yelling at everyone to stand guard while shooing the civilians in door. "Nothing to see here folks go back to bed. All soldiers be ready for anything we'll wait until noon tomorrow to do investigate.
Karma stared at the fading green dot then at the chief. "TCH, sorry but I got a good feeling about this!" He screamed as he started running towards the west gate.
"Wut? … NO! Someone stop that idiot now." Chief screeched out angrily.
A few rabbits in leather armor tried to block karma but he quickly evaded their movements before using a nearby tree to launch himself over the wall and disappearing into the night.
Chief willow slapped his head in rage. "Dammit… hey winter go with him and make sure he gets back alive even if you have to drag him by his Damm ears!"
Winter nodded before running off after him.
"Looks like elder Oaks left behind a major trouble maker for me like I already didn't have one, the stress will kill me before any predator does." Willow complained to a very nervous guard.
Karma continued running into the night unable to see but he followed a green trail in his retina avoiding obstacles and creatures.
The sun was just barely coming casting a very dim shade on the marsh.
After five minutes of running karma was standing in from of ruined tress all over some completely fallen others just missing a large chunk of wood.
"It crazy to think what might have this could still be nearby right." Winter asked appearing next to karma silently.
"Yeah it's lik— Ahhh… crap don't sneak up on me like that winter." Karma could feel his heart pumping almost a mile a minute.
"Awww but you're so cute when flustered." She mocked.
Karma ignored her and continued to walk towards the green dot before laying his eyes on a disturbing sight. "Hey winter are you seeing this too?" They both looked shocked as inside a large hole made in a tree was a bloodied rabbit surrounded by strange shells and blood.
"He looks so ski- wait a minute is that…? Oh crap that's grey! Quick we need to get him medical treatment quickly." Karma was now visibly panicking seeing his best friend half dead surrounded by pure chaos.
Winter grabbed his shoulders reassuringly "No take him to his mother she has plenty of powerful potions she made and she's usually with your sister the healer. Now gently put him on my back I'm much faster."
Karma wasted no time a little too carefully picked greys body up before placing him on winters back.
She ran off ahead of him quickly heading straight to the songs household.
Karma eventually made it back to the eleventh burrow before being bombarded with questions.
"What happened?"
"Why did winter come back alone carrying a rotting corpse."
"Are they attacking us now."
Chief willow quickly stepped in between karma and the nagging folks nearby. "Hold up slow let the Damm boy speak. He can't answer you if you all talk at once."
Everyone stopped asking and stared at karma expectantly. So he quickly summarized what they saw in the marsh.
After explaining everything to everyone he ran to the songs house only to see greys mother violet frantically brewing a potion in the kitchen while greys body lay limp on the clay table being healed by his sister Daisy.
He looked out the window to see shin keeping his siblings outside and away from the windows.
"How is he doing miss song?" Karma asked almost hesitant.
She looked up from her metallic cauldron filled with strange green liquids with a look of fake calm obviously trying to hide her worries.
"It's crazy he's even alive at this point his limbs are full of cracked bones and torn muscles. He also has signs of extreme dehydration and starvation almost as if he burned all his natural nutrients in a day. He seemed to have been in a beast frenzy somehow."
"What's a beast frenzy?" Karma questioned.
"It's a state where beast in extreme stress or danger turn off and run on pure instinct to achieve a singlar goal with no self preservation whatsoever. Most beast in that state die soon after as they activate only when they're bodies are at their limits but they need to keep going to survive."
An "oh" was all karma could manage at this time.
Karma activated his luck rune in maximum power trying to find a way to help his friend.
At that moment he saw a green light in the ground.
~gasp~ " miss song I'm heading to your basement I think I can help." He called out as he ran towards the basement leaving behind a confused violet and daisy that just awkwardly stared at each other.
Karma quickly found his way downstairs finding a small little lab filled with jars of bizarre liquids and organs creeping him out greatly.
He followed his rune into a box filled with about nine different beast cores.
He quickly picked the purple one his rune told him would help before turning around ready to dash out stopping halfway when he saw the mortar and pestle on a desk glowing he followed his rune and using a nearby brain and eyeball he started falling the very vague instructions he was getting.
Every time he failed the finished product would glow red his his eyes forcing him to rest with less materials.
He finally got a green glow on his forth attempt taking nearly an hour.
He ran up stairs with the potion in hand yelling "I got it! I got it! I found the cure for grey!"
Violet look at the bottle in his paws quizzically. "I don't remember having something like that?"
"It's fine my rune helped me find the right ingredients and amounts, it only took me four tries but I got it."
Daisy looked at Violet worried "your potion gave him some energy but for some reason his body is rejecting foreign energy? Even my healing has just barely stabilized him as his body is also rejecting my healing it's worth a chance."
Violet let out a deep sigh of defeat "fine!"
Karma quickly poured it down his throat as Daisy tilted his head up to help it down.
And for a moment nothing happened.
