Chapter 153 - Peach

'Shit…why is she here of all people?' I couldn't help but curse internally.

However, despite the unexpected surprise. It wasn't all that bad as this would save me the effort of finding her.

I looked in her direction where she sat, while I hadn't seen her properly yesterday but now that I did, my childhood friend grew up in one way or another.

She must have felt that I was looking at her as she stared back in my direction, which I didn't avert and only gave a slight smile.

To which she responded with a 'hmph!'

Seeing this I couldn't help but smile wryly, knowing what game she's playing, it's this reverse psychology kind of thing where she pretends to be mad so that it's hard for me to approach her and make it hard for me to apologize.

I'm quite experienced with this kind of thing and I won't bother to make this problem unnecessarily longer since I know how to solve it.

It might come off too forward, but I simply don't have the patience to escalate this drama. I like her, she likes me. Now I'm fucking making her mind.

I've got permission, and I'm not stupid enough not to take advantage of it.

And so, it was time for recess and unsurprisingly almost the entire class gathered at her table like they did with D a while ago.

With the exception of Sora, Shiro and surprisingly D, didn't go and greet the new transfer student.

Since the siblings were introverted, it's no surprise as this was their passive state, unless a person tries to talk to them, then they won't acknowledge them at all.

As for D, I won't bother trying to think whatever is in her mind as it's impossible for me to know what she's thinking.

Then I stood up and went toward the table Luvia was assigned, from the looks of it she was thriving, which was not shocking as the heir of her family it is given that she must be charismatic enough to lead.

Seeing her handling things with ease wasn't surprising compared to the political hell that was the Clocktower.

It's like seeing a fish in a pond, but the more accurate description might be a shark in a pond which she's the apex predator in that small pond.

Not even a few minutes and everyone from class was mesmerized under her sheer charisma.

Then as I arrived, which everyone noticed including the star herself, everyone made a way for me as my classmate knew that I am a 'king' in this small class.

Gilgamesh might be proud of me, if she ever saw this display, maybe. Probably, but most definitely going to be intrigued.

Luvia glanced at me for a second before completely ignoring me, as she let out a snort.

Now everyone from class knew that something was going on with the two of us, but there's no way for them to know what exactly it was.

Letting out a sigh and saying, "Do you mind if we talk alone in private?"

Luvia once again glanced back at my direction to which she answered with a predictable. "No."

My left eye twitched, she was being immature. "Are you really going to play that game?"

Luvia didn't answer, but she didn't need to as her way of ignoring me was enough.

Then I looked around my classmates and said, "Everyone as you may have already noticed, I know this girl and I would appreciate it if you'd give us some space."

I wasn't asking them, but commanding them as I let out a bit of my conqueror's haki making everyone that gathered followed my command.

They aren't strong willed enough to disobey my authority.

After they started to leave the spot, then immediately I casted a bounded field in that very spot that cancels the sound from surrounding and no one from the outside could hear what we are about to say.

"So, are you going to act immature like this making you look like a clown in my eyes or will you show me the dignity of the heir of the house of Edelfelt." I pressed her for an answer.

And finally, she did face me. Not as the immature girl, but the woman who was the future head of the Edelfelt family.

Magi takes everything seriously if it has to do with their reputation and family, even if she herself doesn't like it, she has a reputation to uphold.

It's more of a muscle memory at this point, honed from her childhood to adulthood.

"Alexander Barthomeloi." She glared hard at me, as she mentioned my full name.

If she did this it means that she's very serious, but it's understandable considering what transpired yesterday.

"Luviagelita Edelfelt, I know you aren't a fool, so let me get this straight. You came here for me, don't try to deflect it as it's obvious already, anyone with a working brain could see that. Now the question is, what do you want from me?" I went straight to the point, no avoiding, no foolishness, just straight up to business.

Luvia bit her luscious lips, her beautiful face became complicated, then with a glare she said. "Why? Isn't it obvious already? I need you to apologize to me, for playing with my feelings even though you're already aware of it."

I stared at her, not refuting her claim as indeed I know her feelings very well, but I never acted on it as back then she was way too young for my taste.

But right now, let's not say the obvious.

There's a few things to do in this situation, the first thing was not to apologize and say something self-absorbed, like me, me, me.

Second is to act innocently, telling her that you never know but that's way too obvious even for me.

And the third one is, admit that I'm wrong even though it wasn't intentional on my part, I still hurt her at the end of the day.

Pride was something everyone from my family has, and they have a whole lot of it, probably a size of the planet.

But considering I'm an anomaly, admitting I'm wrong is easy to which I bow to her. If my sister were to see this she would probably have a heart attack.

"I'm sorry for hurting you."

Meanwhile, Luvia was shocked to see me apologizing that easily, she probably expected a long term game, as the Barthomeloi is widely known for being prideful and stubborn.

Heck some of our family would rather die than admit that they made a mistake, history showed that.

I was a bit amused by her shocked reaction. "What are you shocked about? You know very well that I'm quite different from the rest of my family, while they let their pride define them, I don't."

"I-i…" Luvia was speechless and didn't know what to say next, as she expected a long battle of wills and pride just to make me apologize for what I did, but she thought wrong.

Then I suddenly got an idea and smiled as I moved closer to her and touched her face gently and said. "You are beautiful, you don't need my validation for that. I didn't make a move because you're lacking, far from it."

Hearing that Luvia's face became flustered and instinctively slapped the hand that touched her face. "What are you doing?! Hmph! I still haven't forgiven you!"

She says that but from her body language alone, she was starting to warm up to me even if she hadn't noticed it herself.

Then as the final straw, I decided to give her the peach of immortality as I finally found a way of how to use it.

Then I used magic to create a pathway to the peach that was in my room and I took it when my hand reached it.

Seeing me creating a wormhole out of nothing made the heiress of the Edelfelt drop.

"W-what?! Did you just create a wormhole out of nowhere?! How did you even do tha-"

Why was she-? Oh, right she doesn't know that I'm a magician, I thought that everyone knew that I was one at this point of time, considering who my sister was, she wouldn't have hesitated to announce that I, a part of Barthomeloi is a magician to boot, but apparently she didn't.

Only a certain amount of people knew about it, probably the people from her faction.

But before Luvia could continue her question about how I created a wormhole even though she never felt the use of prana.

Then her eyes locked into the thing in my hand, the peach that generated an ungodly amount of mana that it might as well as mini holy grail.

"What the hell is that fruit?! H-how could such a tiny thing generate such a prana that even I needed decades if not a century worth of my prana just to equal that kind of prana?!" The grace of the heiress of a prominent family was thrown out of the window before the peach.

"Well, to simply put this is the mythical immortal peach that the legendary Sun Wukong once ate and right now, I'm using it as a bargain for your forgiveness, now would you like to-"

"Yes! Yes! I forgive you! Gimme that to me, right now!" Only to be cut off by her undisguised greed.

And seeing this, it made me realize why her family was called a pack of hyenas.

It seemed like it's a family trait.

But oh well, at least I'm forgiven.

No to a long term drama, not a fan of it.
