Chapter 6 - Chapter 06: Comfort young brother

Khan didn't know when the mad dog, Saul, will reincarnate. However, he also estimated that there was not much time left, but unexpectedly expected it to come this soon. Eyes downed on Jonathan's split body at his feet, there was no blood coming out, and his flesh was also beginning to dry up. The scene looked so horrifying and disgusting, but he still controlled the emotions on his face so that he didn't show too much nausea.

As soon as Khan raised his head to face the main character, looking down he saw a horrible corpse.

Apparently, the angel Saul was no more. Instead, it was the mad dog Saul that made his life feel extremely threatened. But it seems that the protagonist didn't want to kill him immediately, as evidenced by the fact that he hadn't taken any action but glared at him with an air of suffocating murderous intent.

The shadow under the half-split body of the butler Jonathan cautiously moved and then immediately fled, the movement was as quick as a dog chasing behind. Khan saw it clearly, but he knew there was no way he could stop it. After all, what could an incompetent person like him do right now? The main character was still here. While thinking that, the main character threw the weapon in his hand like a burden. It seemed that it was a normal move, but who would have thought that the tip of the sword seemed to be conscious and obedient to the master's orders, and immediately dug deep into the ground, right where the shadow was about to escape. The shadow stuck like a piece of cloth stuck in a nail.

No sword or magic could do that. Khan knew this well. What had stopped Jonathan's shadow was a kind of mighty aura, that majesty that restrained the shadow from running away.

The Undead of the undefeated king.

A legend had returned.

Khan subconsciously swallowed, even though he didn't want to look at the main character, but he was forced to raise his head to face him.

Because now, he was the protagonist's brother.

"I know you're powerful, but it's amazing like this."

Khan tried to be normal and spoke as if they were real brothers. Well, biologically and genetically, they're real brothers...

Saul remained silent, his pale blue pupils were glaring at Khan without blinking once. Those eyes were no longer the genuine, honest, docile Saul with whom he was familiar. There was madness and craziness in those eyes, and the constant blue splashing of his temples signaled a new sign that wasn't so good.

Khan noticed Saul's fists clenched, his whole body shaking slightly. The mad dog Saul he knew, was not the man who would control his nature when angry. But with this appearance, perhaps… He was more likely to be in pain.

The protagonist's past life memories must be flowing back into his head. Or rather, his time had turned back so he suffered a bit of the side effects of this momentous event. Khan wondered if the pain Saul was enduring, was more intense than the pain he felt when he remembered it all.

"Are you okay?" asked Khan awkwardly

He didn't want to go near Saul, but standing still and showing concern for others seemed fake. In order to show his sincerity, he was forced to lift his legs as if he wanted to approach him.

"Stand there!" Saul growled, each word gnashing a thousand times in his throat. "Dare to take half a step, I will kill."

Eh, that means this guy has no intention of killing me yet, right?

So Khan obediently stood still.

It wasn't until Khan counted the shadow beneath the blade that had writhed about two or six times that Saul calmed down.

"Hey," called Saul coldly.

Didn't call Mr Khan anymore.

"Yes, I 'm all ears, Saul," said Khan quietly, his legs still motionless in place.

Saul seemed to shiver at his sudden intimate address, he coldly glared as if warning him not to address such goosebumps again. Obviously, Khan pretended not to know his hidden meaning.

"…"

Khan still kept the same smile hanging on his innocent face.

"Hey… how old are you?"

Probably want to determine the time here. People who reincarnated will usually want to know first about the date of the present time, right?

"Tomorrow I will be the official Viscount so, of course, I will be eighteen. Why are you asking so strangely? Are you still awake after being hypnotized by Jonathan?"

Saul frowned at the doubtful expression he showed him. He just turned his head away, then walked over to where the sword was stuck.

The shadow that used to be the butler Jonathan writhed even more violently.

"Do you want to kill it?" Khan didn't accept Saul's insolence, if he was polite now, it would be quite strange.

"Want to save it?" Saul asked back, his voice cold.

"No, I was just curious." Khan shook his head immediately.

No one can save the prey under the main character's blade unless they wanted to become his enemy.

Saul's eyebrows deepened, his eyes resting on him for about three seconds and then moving away.

Khan was a little curious about how he would kill Jonathan. He was Undead, as far as he knew about this world, in order to kill a Undead, it was necessary to use a weapon to injure the soul.

Otherwise, it was just a waste of time. However, the main character could create miracles, maybe there will be another way?

The problem was that currently, Saul had not solved the magic energy blockade matrix on his body, how could he kill the Undead? Using the Sword Master's aura?

Then, under Khan's curious gaze, the main character picked up the sword and immediately stabbed it down with force. The ground cracked, unable to withstand the tremendous pressure, and broke into a deep hollow. Dusty dust flew, and Saul stood proudly in the middle of the dark space like a monster with unique strength.

Khan unconsciously swallowed.

He took a closer look at the situation as the dust gradually cleared.

The shadow he wanted to find was nowhere to be found.

Was he dead?

The first villain to confront the main character in less than an hour has already gone to meet his Maker? Not really, the Undead was the most difficult race to kill. Basically, the Undead was already dead. But the strength of the main character was really terrible, he was not dead or seriously injured.

I have to be careful if I still want to live to love life...

Gathering up the courage to speak to the main character, Khan said.

"Where are you planning to go?" The protagonist's back was moving suddenly stopped. Khan continued, "Not going back to the mansion?"

Saul pretended not to hear anything and continued on.

"Your mother left an item, I want to give it to you." Khan directly threw a bomb.

He restrained the trembling feeling of wanting to kneel and gritted his teeth to endure the supremacy of the main character who was putting pressure on him. He turned around, his dead eyes staring at him.

And in the blink of an eye, Saul appeared right in front of him at a close distance. Khan could clearly see his pupils constricting from his intense emotion.

"Brother. What. Do. You. Say?"

Mad Dog Saul had evolved into Monster Saul. If he gave an answer that displeased him, even a little, then Khan would have a reincarnation ticket.

"The relic… of your mother." Khan tried to control the trembling in his voice, this was the instinctive fear of the weak in front of the strong. He answered firmly. "I want to give it back to you."

The aura of terror gradually subsided, and soon he was breathing normally again. Right now, he thought he was going to die of suffocation.

Khan hastily regulated his breathing. When his breathing calmed down, he raised his head and looked directly into the emotionless eyes of the protagonist who was still staring at him.

"You shouldn't have received it. Your mother had to give this item back to you when you turned twenty. But I think you won't come back here again, do you?"

Saul did not answer. But his expressionless gaze was wavering.

"I didn't stop you. Anyway, up until now, you hadn't received any familial love so it was not difficult for you to want to leave. Merely…"

Khan smiled sadly, he was thinking if he should squeeze out a few tears to make it more vivid, but it was a bit annoying so he let it go. Just coax the main to change his mind about killing his brother first.

"I thought you would forgive me."

Saul still didn't say a word.

Khan seemed okay, he shrugged and said. "After receiving the official title tomorrow, I and you will return to the Earl's mansion. Your mother's relic is there."

After waiting for a while, Saul remained silent and motionless as a statue. Khan felt tired, so he said he was a bit tired, thanked Saul for saving his life, and decided to quickly run back to his room. But just as he turned his back, Saul held Khan's eager footsteps with a question.

"You take an aversion to me."

Khan paused, his shoulders stiff. The head still didn't turn back, the night wind suddenly blew strongly, causing the leaves of the trees to alternately touch each other and rustle. Both brothers were silent as if waiting for some special moment to come.

"Yes, I hated you." Khan used and emphasized the word covered refer to the problem. Then he continued. "I hate the way you look happy when you smile at your mother. I hate the look of you crying when calling your mother. I hate the way you talked and kept talking about your mother." Khan said in a bitter voice. "For someone who killed my mother like me, the happy look to have a caring mother like you was really hateful."

Khan's mother in this life died on the same day he was born. Partly it was also true, he always hated children who bragged about their mothers in front of him. Let alone, Saul, his mother came from a lowly commoner class. According to rumors, thanks to her beauty and luck, she was noticed by the Earl and taken to the palace as Khan's stepmother. Not long after, the stepmother was also pregnant, and naturally, Saul was born in nine months and ten days.

The moment Saul saw the light, lying in his mother's lap and smiling like a child. That warm scene fell into Khan's eyes like a thorn in the eye, from that day determined Saul and Khan's brotherly relationship could never be reconciled.

The corrupt Khan wondered, how could such a lowly commoner laugh so happily? Because he had a mother? Because he has something khan didn't have?

It was insolent.

Well then, just took everything it had. Let that smile never flourish again like that.

Of course, the main reason was still the corrupt Khan's gloomy personality.

Such a weak mentality made him not want to admit it was himself at all.

"It was an impulsive feeling when I was young… I want to treat you better in the future but…" Khan remained silent. He decided to let the main character make up the content after that. At this moment, talking more can backfire, very dangerous.

"How do you know the housekeeper has a problem?" Saul asked, his voice still cold and emotionless.

It's true that the main character was different, why were his heart and lungs so tough as steel?

"Actually… I am quite sensitive to dark magical energy." Khan turned his head, lying without blinking. "But I still can't use magic. I could only feel other people's feelings, and my own was useless. Saul, the butler Jonathan is a dangerous man, he has been hiding here for a long time and the prey he originally targeted was you."

Jonathan wasn't here to testify, if he was re-arrested didn't mean Khan was lying. Because at first he was really aiming for both of them, but then, Khan possessed something more delicious that Jonathan himself didn't know about, so he focused on him. Something seemed to be holding him back from the leisurely time of becoming a rotten person instead of a corpse, or his soul devoured or sealed as a slave by old Undead.

Currently, he had the advantage of being the holder of the information (plot). Saul was the one who asked the question, and he was the one who gave the answers and information Saul needed. Maybe Saul would doubt the truth of the matter, but as long as he couldn't solve the magic energy blockade matrix, Khan still had hope.

What was more, the fact that Saul hesitated to kill him immediately despite being quite capable of doing, it was enough to show that the little brotherhood and hope of a home were still in his heart.

If this was the result of the series of butterfly effects he had caused, it was a wonderfully unexpected result.

Saul still remained silent, his face cold and emotionless. His current appearance reminded Khan so much of the angel Saul.

Saul didn't say another word, turned his back, and wanted to leave immediately.

This time Khan didn't say anything to stop him, he looked at the big hole in the garden for a while and then left, pretending not to see anything. But before he had gone ten paces he saw a crowd of people running in the distance. Someone holding a lamp, someone carrying a stick, as if they were catching to steal.

Ever since Saul had caused an uproar, he had thought the whole mansion knew and would be here soon, but he didn't expect them to be so slow. Waiting for the group to enter the range of possible communication, Khan immediately spoke up, blocking any questions that ignited through their curious eyes.

"Just now, there were some thieves harassing me, my brother took care of it. But there are some consequences."

Khan ignored their surprised expressions. He told the young butler who was an intern at this mansion. The housekeeper was sent here by his father in advance to prepare him for all aspects of comfort before and after becoming a Viscount.

"Let the servants go back to sleep, tomorrow morning call a mechanic to repair and refurbish the garden."

Khan didn't wait for a reply, but turned away, ignoring the panic that was sprouting in the night sky.

Returning to his room, flopping down on the soft mattress and rolling on the bed, Khan looked at the wolf that still hadn't woken up. It must be very strong, it takes so much sleep to evolve. Thoughts eagerly welcomed Khan into a slumber. Khan's eyes were heavy, his eyelids were as if he were wearing leads and pressed down heavily. Khan tiredly went to sleep.

He slept very deeply as if the sky fell and he did not want to wake up.

A tiny shadow suddenly slithered across the floor, it rushed to Khan. That black shadow was dull as if it was about to dissolve into the air. When the distance between it and Khan was shortened, in the stillness of the night came a low, raspy laugh of satisfaction. Then, the faint shadow immediately entered Khan's body. But before it could reach his soul, it was knocked out by a terrible force.

Khan's body emitted a soft light like it was partially inlaid with the aura of a silver moon. A vague figure appeared, like a guardian angel next to the person "it" needed to protect. That shadow trembled, it almost became transparent.

"This… This is… Impossible!!!"

The vague figure's arm lifted the index finger pointing in the direction of the shadow. There was a faint whisper, no one heard it clearly because the night wind swallowed all sounds.

After that, the shadow darkened as if being revived. But it didn't seem happy, even screaming and sobbing. Its scream was completely swallowed up by the dead silence, then the shadow was sucked into the shadow of the sleeping Khan. It writhed trying to get out.

Waving the area to no avail.

The shadow merged with Khan's shadow. The surrounding space immediately returned to its normal state as if nothing had happened.

Suddenly, a tall, slender figure appeared at Khan's window. Thanks to the moonlight, it was possible to see the messy sky-blue hair. He silently opened the unlocked window and entered. He just stood motionless next to Khan's bed, his eyes hard to read as he stared at the sleeping man as if he wanted to dissect the other and see what was special inside.

"Security?…" He whispered, very quietly.

Nobody answered. He didn't expect anything either and turned to leave.

* * *

A dreamless sleep lasted until the next morning, Khan turned to find a comfortable position to sleep in again. His sleepy eyes fluttered open and then widened in panic. He almost had a heart attack and gave up the ghost. He didn't know when the main character appeared, but he was sure that he had been standing by the bed watching him sleep for a long time.

Khan stiffly sat up, he was about to open his mouth to say hello to a little brotherhood when he spoke first.

If Khan kept throwing bombs yesterday, Saul was the rocket thrower today.

"Father passed away."

The protagonist coldly uttered an emotionless narration. Needless to say, Khan was shocked by Saul's horrible new-day greeting.

It's crazy, was it possible that the mad dog Saul carried a sword to kill his father?
