Chapter 402 - Book 13: Part 55 – The Reincarnation of Roger, Newgate, and Rouge

Realising that their attempts at taking advantage of the situation to deal Ace a devastating blow and hopefully even killing him had failed, the Overgods of the Four Edicts hurriedly retreated into a desolate corner of the universe. The power Ace had displayed was simply terrifying – for him to rewind time for the entire universe, even if it was only by a little over a minute, was a feat that they couldn't wrap their minds around.

They understood that with power like that, Ace had now reached a level of power that they could only dream about and, by extension, had the ability to locate and kill them. Still, between their fear of death and overwhelming desire to live, they still decided to retreat as far away as possible.

As they guessed, not only could Ace sense their current location, but he also now had the power to kill them with ease. Even so, other than a cold and disdainful snort, he paid them no more attention. Even though there were a few hiccups along the way, today was due to be the happiest day of his life – he wouldn't soil it with bloodshed. He would have his revenge another day, but right now, his entire focus was on his wife as she continued to give birth under the aid of his mother, who was acting as the couple's midwife.

With him transferring her his kernel of Faith, her life was in no more danger; even so, he still couldn't help but worry. Thankfully, she faced no other unforeseen circumstances – the rest of the birth went without a hitch.

But as she gave birth, Ace's eyes widened in complete and utter shock. It was to the point where, for a second, Ace hadn't even heard his wife or mother calling out to him.

Seeing the look in her husband's eyes, Amira couldn't help but worry. It should be mentioned that, as she didn't want to know the sex of the baby, other than making sure the baby's vitals were okay, she didn't look much further into it; as a result, she was also a little taken aback when she realised that she was giving birth to twins, but that was it.

Still, even if Ace was surprised by that, she knew her husband well enough to know that was far from enough to cause his current reaction. As a result, both she and Millianna hurriedly scanned the twins, but no matter how closely they looked, they couldn't see anything but two healthy baby boys. At the same time, they also knew that Ace was infinitely stronger than them. He would be able to see more than they could. Knowing that, Amira couldn't help but worry, thinking that Ace had sensed something wrong with them.

Feeling his wife's growing concern, Ace hurriedly reassured her that the boys were healthy. In fact, they had been blessed with talent that put even them to shame.

Hearing that, Amira's concern had been put to bed – she didn't care much about their talent as long as they were healthy. Still, she couldn't help but look at Ace in confusion as Ace continued to stare at the twins, who, in turn, were staring straight back at him.

A helpless smile appeared on Ace's face as he sighed and said aloud that "someone" had a very twisted sense of humour.

Realising that Amira still couldn't understand what he was talking about, Ace asked if she remembered the story of his previous life.

Hearing Ace's question, both Amira and Millianna nodded before realising what Ace was hinting at.

It was then that Ace finally revealed that the twins that she had just given birth to were none other than his biological and adoptive father from his previous life – Gol D. Roger and Edward Newgate!

Hearing that, both his wife and mother looked at him in shock before turning their attention back to the twins, who were still looking up at Ace in a mixture of shock, confusion, and dismay.

Because they were just born into the Coiling Dragon universe, like Ace after his rebirth, they couldn't understand the language. Even so, they were both smart enough to realise that they had been reborn, and looking up at the unforgettable face that belonged to Ace, it was clear that they had been reborn as Ace's children.

They were both more than a little confused about how to feel, but when they saw Ace's helpless expression morph into that of an evil-looking smirk, both boys suddenly felt a chill crawl up their spine.

Amira saw Ace poke both boys on the head but didn't make a move to stop him. Despite the look on his face, she knew full well that he would never do anything to hurt them, especially as he looked up to both of them from the bottom of his heart. Still, she couldn't help but look up at Ace as though she was waiting for an answer from him. Even if they were Ace's biological and adoptive fathers from his previous life, they were her beloved children in this one.

Ace shrugged and said that he simply sealed away their memories – the seal would automatically undo when they were 18.

Hearing that, Amira calmly nodded, understanding the reason behind his decision, and even agreed with it, but remembering the evil smirk on her husband's face, she warned him that she didn't care who they were in his past life; he was forbidden from bullying her sons.

Ace may have grown to become the strongest existence in the universe, but feeling his wife's glare, he couldn't help but shudder and nod obediently.

Ace sighed helplessly at his wife. Still, a gentle and warm smile appeared on his face as he looked at his family. As twisted as it may be being the father of his two former father figures, his heart was filled with no less warmth. Instead, he felt a level of happiness that he hadn't felt in a long time; the only thing missing was his mother.

Thinking about that and remembering the twisted sense of humour a certain "someone" seemed to have, he couldn't help but spread his perception across the entire universe. It was only for a split second, but once again, his expression morphed into one of shock, helplessness, and a little frustration.

Linley, who, after time was reversed, was still standing beside his wife, looked at Ace in confusion as he watched his rival's eyebrows twitch uncontrollably as he stared at his wife.

Yunaia was currently pregnant with the second child of hers and Linley's, but Ace couldn't help but want to cry as he realised that his own mother was being born to Linley and Yunaia, and by the looks of it, her talent was no weaker than that of his twins.

Ace suddenly appeared before Yunaia. Linley knew that Ace would never do anything untoward to his wife or unborn child, but as her husband, he reacted on instinct, moving to intercept Ace as he saw Ace reach out a hand toward Yunaia's very pregnant belly.

Ace snorted disdainfully as a playful smirk formed on his face before freezing Linley in space and explaining that he would have to completely comprehend his Law of Chaos and make a breakthrough in his realm to be able to stand on his level.

After his breakthrough, not only had his power grown to an almost inconceivable level and was actually still growing, but his understanding of the universe had also reached the true pinnacle; as such, he was able to see with a glance just how profound and incredible Linley's Law of Chaos really was, and what it would do for his future.

Still, now that he had reached his current level, aside from a hint of surprise, he didn't feel much else.

He turned his attention back to Yunaia and explained so that both she and Linley could understand his actions.

Although he didn't reveal the relationship between him and their unborn daughter yet, he did explain that they were giving birth to the soulmate of his child; as a result, her talent was no less than his sons. To prevent them from having to go through what he and Amira were going through, he was going to infuse their daughter with his Will.

Hearing that, both Linley and Yunaia cycled through a myriad of emotions, from shock to fear to joy. Still, hearing that Ace was going to make it so that they would be able to save them from going through so much trouble during the birth, both parent's emotions ended in appreciation.

While he was doing that, Ace also made sure to put the same seal on the memories of their daughter to prevent her from remembering too early.

After everything was sorted once and for all, Ace couldn't help but rub his head and sigh. He looked up into the sky, hearing a faint but unmistakable voice calling out to him.

Although he didn't know who it was, he knew whoever they were; they had to be the ones responsible for his rebirth, as well as the rebirth of Roger, Newgate, and Rouge. He could sense from the calling that they wanted to meet in person.

Even so, he merely snorted before ignoring their calls. For the next 18 years, he wanted to do nothing but enjoy his life as a father and husband. After that, he would deal with a certain four Overgods. Until then, they would just have to wait!
