Chapter 396 - Book 13: Part 49 – Linley’s Breakthrough

The vast majority of the universe, hearing the chimes of Heaven, instinctually believed it to be Ace once again founding yet another Law, but only those present at the moment knew that it was Linley this time. Still, they had no idea what he had managed to comprehend.

Even Ace, as he stared at the natural laws that descended around Linley, he wasn't able to figure it out. Whatever Linley had comprehended, it somehow had the ability to destabilise everything it came into contact with it, be it the fabric of space or Ace's perception. What he did know, though, was that, whatever it was, it was incredibly powerful. In fact, judging by the blessing Linley was in the middle of receiving, it seemed to be a tier above the Rules of Space and Time.

Even so, Ace felt not even a hint of jealousy. In fact, there was actually a hint of anticipation hidden within his gradually rising battle intent.

Although Linley had become incredibly powerful, especially after becoming a four-way soul mutate, there was still a large gap between the two rivals, and although Linley had never given up chasing after Ace, Ace himself didn't hold out much hope. Especially after receiving the blessing from founding the Rules of Space & Time – he had grown too powerful.

As far as Ace was concerned, even if Linley was to break through to become a Chief Sovereign of his four-way fused Law, he would still be too weak. But now, he had no idea what Linley's blessing would be or how strong he had become when using his new Law, but what he was confident of was that, even when he reached his peak, he wouldn't be too lonely.

Linley had no idea what Ace was thinking; he was completely focused on the blessing he was in the midst of receiving, and the more he did, the more excited he became.

As previously mentioned, he had never given up on chasing after Ace. Especially as he got closer to fusing the four Laws of Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth, he could feel that its fusion was more powerful than anything he could put into words, and finally, after accomplishing his goal, he knew that he was right!

Still, not even he could've guessed that the results would be so overpowered. From heaven, he could sense that the Law he had founded was called the Law of Chaos. What made Chaos so incredible was that, as everything was born from chaos and would return to chaos in the end, those who comprehended the Laws of Chaos were capable of replicating the effects of any and every element in existence – aside from that of Space and Time.

Still, even if he couldn't directly replicate the Rules of Space and Time directly, he was capable of destabilising and manipulating both Rules as a side effect.

Just from that alone, it could be seen that the Laws of Chaos were incredibly overpowered. Still, that was just the beginning. For founding the Laws of Chaos, he was blessed by heaven, and as the laws of heaven were fair when they handed out blessings, the fact that Linley had founded the most powerful element in existence, the blessing he received was equally the most powerful.

It was a blessing that not only evolved his bloodline and physique so that he was better suited for utilising the laws of Chaos, but it also directly increased his Willpower so that his new total was 100 and would also bless him with another hundred units upon becoming a paragon of the Laws of Chaos.

The effects of his Innate Body of Chaos increased his divine power, which was already at the level of a Chief Sovereign, 100 times over. As it stood, his Chaotic Divine Power had reached the same level as that of an Overgod after condensing their bodies.

As for his bloodline, he had gone from having a pure Azure Dragon Bloodline to that of a Chaotic Dragon Emperor Bloodline. In his dragonised state, Linley's body had also reached the level of an Overgod. Still, it was his Divine Ability that really made him overpowered. His new Divine Ability, Chaos Ruler, summoned the giant head of a violet-golden dragon, which in turn created a domain that made it possible to destabilise the divine power of his enemies, and if he was strong enough, he might even be able to take control of his opponent's Divine Power making it his own.

As far as Divine Abilities went, the only one that could compete with it was Ace's own.

Although there was still a bit of a difference between himself and even the weakest of Overgods who hadn't condensed their Overgod bodies, his potential was limitless.

As the natural laws finished blessing him and Linley felt his new power coursing through his body, he couldn't help but burst out into laughter!

Finally, his eyes fell on Ace, and without so much as a word, he shot forth and punched out. Although he didn't transform into his dragonized state, nor did he utilise his current comprehension of the Laws of Chaos, aside from that, he didn't hold anything back.

The fabric of Chaotic Space surrounding him began to warp simply from his raw power. Still, Ace didn't back down as he replied in kind!

As the two fists neared, the space that separated them was directly shattered under their might, preventing their fists from ever making contact. Even so, the aftershock of the clash was so powerful that even a few of the weaker Sovereigns who entered the void to see what was going on were blown back.

The clash only lasted a few seconds before Linley was sent flying into the distance of the void; his arm shattered into a bloody pulp. Even so, Linley's laughter only increased in excitement.

Linley wasn't foolish; he obviously knew that he was still a lot weaker than Ace. Although, like him, Ace didn't utilise his comprehension of the laws or any of his bloodline-related abilities, Ace didn't hold back his Willpower.

It had to be remembered that Ace's current Willpower had reached a shocking total of 158. The fact that Linley could take Ace's unrestrained power without dying was enough to excite Linley to no end. Finally, he could once again hold the title of being Ace's rival without feeling shame.

Seconds later, Linley returned to his previous position in front of Ace and the others. It was clear he had no intention of continuing his fight with Ace at that moment in time, but he was still radiating an overwhelming battle intent as he met Ace's eyes.

He directly stated that after Ace was done with the other four Overgods, he was next.

His words took everyone by surprise for a second. It was Ace they were talking about, after all. Still, it was clear from that last clash that Linley had the qualifications to challenge Ace in the future. Plus, unlike the battles with the Overgods, the one between Linley and Ace wasn't one to the death but a competitive battle between two rivals.

In response, Ace directly agreed. He then did something that took even Linley by surprise.

By using his Divine Ability to boost his spiritual essence tenfold, he was able to spread his Godrealm across the entire universe, allowing him to project his voice into the minds of everyone alive. He then explained that, as everyone was now aware, a new law was founded, but this one wasn't by him. He clearly explained that the law founded was the Law of Chaos, and not only was it the most powerful law currently in existence, but it was also founded by his rival – Linley Baruch.

With that done, Ace cut off his transmission and returned to isolation, not bothering to say anything else to anyone else.

His actions took many by surprise, but those who knew him best didn't bat so much as an eyelid. Ace was never the type who liked to steal benefits from the achievements of others and had he not done what he had just now, Ace's faith would've likely continued to increase due to the misconception that he had founded yet another element.

Now, though, the faith would go to the right person, and judging by the sudden but very sizeable boost in his perception, the amount of faith he was receiving now was anything but small.

As for Ace himself, he had dealt with everything he had to. His mind was refocused on his own training, and there was an excited glint in his eyes, which hadn't been there before.

Where previously he had been struggling with how to get started on the Law of Temporal Reversal, he now no longer faced that same issue, and he had Linley to thank for that.

The destabilising effects of Linley's Law of Chaos on the flow of time around him allowed Ace to see the flow of time in an all-new light. Although his progress right now was barely a percent of a single percent, it was the start he needed.
