Chapter 388 - Book 13: Part 41 – Kannal’s Blessing

Kannal's breakthrough hadn't gone undetected by the other Overgods. Initially, they believed that Heaven had finally had enough of Ace and was acting to eliminate him, but when they spread their perception, they were disappointed to find that Ace was stood off to one side, safe and sound. But when they focused on the person Heaven was truly focused on, they were left in a state of shock.

They knew that thanks to their Gol clan bloodline, Ace, Amira, and the rest of the Gol clan descendants were born outside of Heaven's control and, as such, had the chance to accomplish feats that were outside of what should be otherwise possible. With the talent shown by Ace and Amira thus far, they had thought that they would one day find a way to break through to the Sovereign Realm; in fact, because they didn't know the truth of Amira's condition, they had already thought the worst, that she might well have become a Sovereign already, but the truth was so much worse than that!

Although Ace was still very much a deity, they knew his true strength couldn't be estimated based on his realm, so what they were actually both taken aback by and fearful of was the fact that Kannal was not only breaking through to the Sovereign Realm without one of Heaven's Sovereign Sparks, but more importantly, he had actually, just like those of the Gol Clan, rid himself of Heaven's influence.

That was when they subconsciously looked at the Yulan Plane's other powerhouses that had exited Ace's personal dimension to watch Kannal undergo his heavenly tribulation. Each of their eyes constricted as they realised that all of the top powerhouses of the Yulan Plane, whether they were descendants of the Gol Clan or not, had actually broken free of Heaven's influence.

They were tempted to act now more than ever, but the moment they spread their perception to lock onto Kannal and the others, the Overgods on the side of the Yulan Plane had similarly locked onto them. They knew that the moment they showed any intentions of making a move on Ace and his friends, Aiden and the others would similarly make their move.

It should be mentioned that in the last few thousand years since they last made contact, by working together, each of them had successfully condensed their Overgod bodies. Although they didn't want to, with Ace and his group constantly making moves to take away from their faiths, they couldn't afford to wait any longer. Thankfully, every time one of them was able to condense their Overgod body, the time needed to condense the body of the next individual was cut down due to the increase in power and ability.

Still, even though their power had seen a drastic improvement since their last battle, so too had the powerhouses on the side of the Yulan Plane. As it stood, of their four Overgods, the only one who was yet to condense his Overgod body was Aiden, who, like his disciple, couldn't be judged based on his realm. Thanks to his heavenly blessing, he was blessed with 20 units of Will for every Concept comprehended, and for someone like him whose talents didn't lose out to Ace's, they had no idea how many Concepts he had comprehended in that time.

It was for those reasons that they knew it was best not to act. Instead, all they could do was hope and pray that Kannal would fail his tribulation and be killed.

Unfortunately, they were destined to be disappointed. Although only barely, Kannal had successfully completed his breakthrough to become the first naturally ascended Sovereign.

Once again, they were tempted to take matters into their own hands, but as soon as the thoughts crossed their mind, Aiden released a hint of his true power. It was only for a fraction of a second, but it was long enough for them to sense that his current power was no weaker than the Overgod of Destruction, who, thanks to being the first of the Overgods of the four Edicts to condense his Overgod body and, by extension, the one with the most faith fused into his body, was also the strongest of them.

Though it was shocking, the threat posed by Kannal and the others had become too much to ignore, but that was when they felt something even more shocking! They didn't know who or what it was or how it was even possible, for that matter, but for a split second, it actually felt as though Heaven itself had locked on to them.

By the time they tried to focus on the presence of the entity that locked onto them, they realised that whoever it was had disappeared. Clearly, it was only a warning, but it was successful. After taking a moment to think it through, they realised that although the aura of that mystery person was similar to that of Heaven, it was infinitely weaker and also far from mature. Still, the fact that it resembled Heaven at all was enough of a deterrence for them to forego any idea of acting against Kannal and the others.

They were now focused on figuring out who that mystery person was. Their first thought was Ace; in their eyes, he was the only person capable of doing something so unbelievable. Still, even he had to have his limits, but no matter how much effort they put into thinking of someone else it may be, they couldn't come up with another likely candidate.

Whilst they were worrying over the identity of the mysterious powerhouse, Ace and the others had returned to his private dimension, where Ace was standing, holding Kannal up with a somewhat helpless expression on his face.

As his enemies had guessed, the one who had locked onto them at the end was indeed Ace. He had been able to utilise some of his power as the "Heaven" of his dimension even whilst not inside. Unfortunately, the price he had paid wasn't light. Not only did he have to use the power of his dimension to increase his perception to cover the entire universe, he also had to use it to directly lock on to all seven Overgods at the same time whilst masking his identity.

Although it didn't weaken him directly, the previously dense energy that pervaded his dimension was currently only a tenth of what it normally was. Although he knew the effects were far from permanent, it was still a massive loss as it meant that he would no longer be able to increase the flow of time in his dimension to aid his training. Plus, it was ten times harder for him to sense the laws of nature to comprehend for both him and the others.

Even so, he didn't regret his decision in the slightest. If he hadn't done what he had, there was a good chance that their enemies would've made a move on them; consequences be damned! Plus, now he had confirmed that, whilst it was possible to use his powers as ruler whilst not inside, it required far more than what he used when inside.

As for Kannal, the one who had caused the disturbance in the first place, although he still wasn't at 100%, his condition had improved drastically from what it was before as Ace had waited until he had finished receiving Heaven's blessing before taking them back in his personal dimension.

He could tell from the reactions of Ace and the other Overgods that things had almost taken a dangerous turn, and he was smart enough to understand what had almost happened and why. Still, it was hard to be anything but excited as he focused on the blessing he had just received.

Understanding his friend's mood. Until now, it was only he and Aiden were the only people in the entire universe to have ever received them, and Ace had been given two.

It should be noted that although Ace hadn't appeared excited by his last blessing, it didn't mean it was any less impressive than his first.

The difference between the nature of Space and that of the other seven ordinary elements was that when it came to the seven ordinary elements, one would become a paragon by comprehending and fusing all of its profound mysteries, at which point they would be rewarded with a unit of Will, but Space was different.

Due to the complexity and overwhelming power of the Rules of Space, it was made up of three separate Laws. Although there was no need to fuse them, comprehending each single Law was just as difficult as becoming a paragon of any of the seven Laws or four Edicts. Because of that, one would be rewarded a single portion of Will for each individual Law comprehended, meaning that one would have three units upon becoming a Paragon of the Rules of Space.

For Ace, though, as the founder, his blessing rewarded him with 20 units of Will as a base giveaway, and then an additional ten units for each individual Law comprehended. Whilst not quite as impressive as his previous blessing, which not only allowed him to double his total Willpower every time he made a breakthrough in the realm but also increased the power of his Pure Yang Divine Power, so it was 2000 times more powerful than ordinary Divine Power at the same level, it was still enough to make almost anyone sigh in envy.

Looking at Kannal's excitement, Ace chuckled as he asked what his blessing was.

In response, Kannal excitedly explained that, as the first natural Sovereign, Heaven blessed him so that now, although he would still only be rewarded with one unit of Will for each Concept comprehended, the total limit of Concepts he was able to comprehend had increased.

Before, the max that a Lesser Sovereign could comprehend was four, then five as an Intermediate Sovereign, six as a Chief Sovereign, and nine as an Overgod, but now his limit would increase to nine more at each realm.

Unfortunately, that would only be applied to his Wind-based Concepts, but for Kannal, that was more than enough of a reward!
