Chapter 1153 - Time Passing

Astra PoV

"Y'know... the days have been going by slowly but surely... I think... this is the first time they've felt like this, y'know? Just... steady. Nothing crazy, nothing that needs desperate attention... just steady."

Renna continued to scribble down numbers while I leaned on her desk, the red head doing the final calculations for the first few days of income and preparing to wow me with the sheer amount of wine I was totally going to go home and have to produce... because it definitely~ wasn't just in my 'pocket' waiting to be transferred into 'real' storage.

"We've just come in every morning, got this store going and then... well, some stuff happens, like Leonisa coming by with a large sack of gold and a heavy sack in general... and then Fenkar wanted some too... y'know, of both the wine and our bodies. Oh, and there was that one Noble that tried to hit on you but failed miserably, to the point she almost got beat up by Taura~! That was funny..."

"I felt bad for her because she clearly rarely communicates with anyone, but... yes, telling me to my face that my 'ass looks fatter than that of a Cowkin' and that I was 'looking extremely breedable' was definitely not something I want to hear from someone I have never once met before."

That just made me laugh as I recalled the scrawny, bespectacled futanari that had said that, the memory of the surprise on her face when Renna told her to leave and then the immediate fear she had when Taura appeared behind her causing my laughter to swell to new heights.

"It wasn't that funny, Astra..!"

Even as she tried to scold me Renna was hiding a smile behind her papers, making me snicker as I mimed pushing some glasses up my nose before making my voice somewhat shrill and leaning to the side to get a better look at her hips.

"Why, those are proper birthing hips, m'lady~! I bet they-"

"Astra please!"

We both began to just laugh and laugh in the office at that, to the point that eventually Renna had to ring the bell that drew Shelur in so that she could have me removed from the office and allow her to work in peace, though that only made me laugh even harder.

The Orc was beyond confused by everything yet she still gently grabbed me by my upper arm and guided me out of the office, where she waited for me to finally get myself under control so that I could explain myself.

Not that it did any good since I just fell back into laughter, but she seemed to understand after I mimed the glasses again, and even for the usually stoic Orc the situation was a bit funny, causing her lips to curl slightly while she shook her head.

"I find it intriguing that you trust me this much already."

"I find it funny that you think I trust you."

Sarnai tilted her head at that before shrugging as she hoisted another barrel of foodstuffs onto a cart, preparing to pull it behind herself beneath my supervision; the Leopardkin had been stripped of all of her gear and given simple clothes, which should have lessened the appeal of her body for me...

Yet it didn't whatsoever, and if anything there was a new appeal here as I watched her perform simple things in simple clothes; gone was the hardened warrior talking about killing me and instead in her place was a typical laborer with an outstanding body, one that now belonged to me.

"After all these days - and especially all of these nights - you still don't trust me~?"

"No, because I don't think you've submitted completely just yet. I think you're waiting to see if you can find an opening to turn the tables again, to try and conquer me after I've already conquered you. So until I think you've submitted fully, I don't trust you. Doesn't mean I won't make use of you though."

"I've noticed..."

She said that dryly as she looked down at the somewhat torn pants she was wearing, the string that tightened it to keep it from falling down her hips not as tight as it had once been, all because I had yanked it down to give me quick access to her tight, meaty pussy.

"I'm sure you have. Now c'mon, we don't have all day. According to you we should be expecting company tomorrow, and sadly it would seem the soldiers sent by the Duchess are lost... or they encountered your leader Altan already."

"Let's hope not... once she gets on a roll there's usually no stopping her."

To say I was looking forwards to the arrival of this Altan person would be doing a disservice to the anticipation coursing through my veins, because after the fight with Sarnai I had awakened that excitement in my blood that yearned for another proper battle.

One where I could let loose and not really have to worry about much else, one where I could actually push myself to the limits and try to exceed them; I just wanted a good fight, and while Sarnai did technically provide one she was also very predictable.

If this Altan was a berserker it wouldn't be terribly satisfying, but the simplicity of crashing against an 'unstoppable' force to see which one of us is actually unstoppable was very appealing to me.

Especially since my victory would ensure this Leopardkin's complete subservience since it would be a display of strength even more worthy than the one she had already seen; beating her is one thing, but beating someone who already beat her multiple times just drove that point home completely.

"Let's just hope it is tomorrow. All this preparing... I don't want it wasted, y'know? It would be a shame if she actually lost to those soldiers or got dissuaded from coming here."

"Oh, she'll be here. It's all apart of whatever plan it was that she concocted..."

Hoisting the final barrel onto the cart, Sarnai began to walk it back towards the cavern, unbothered by the vast amount of weight in the cart and unconsciously sending a shiver down my spine as I watched her for a moment.

"Move it, Sarnai."

I didn't even need to actually say it out loud for the Leopardkin, because after a glance back she smirked, flicked her tail side to side and then started swaying her hips as she walked, giving me a show and making it all too easy to drag her back to her cell for 'reprimanding'.
