"Dad! Mom! Where are you!!" Bai Lingmiao cried, her tears streaming down her face as she searched the whole of Niuxin Village.
Behind her, Li Huowang followed, helping her search even though he could see that, aside from them, there wasn't another soul in the entire village.
Just then, a cautious-looking Top Scholar Lv approached them with an obsequious smile.
Frowning, Li Huowang turned to Top Scholar Lv, who had arrived before him. "What on earth is going on here?"
Top Scholar Lv looked completely innocent. "Daoist Master, how would I know? When I got here, there wasn't a single person in the village."
"I found it strange, too. At first, I thought this old man had gotten the location wrong, so I went searching all around for miles. But after scouring all of Niuxin Mountain, this was the only settlement I could find."
Hearing this, Li Huowang said nothing more. He took a deep breath and strode toward Bai Lingmiao in the distance.
