At dusk, Li Huowang walked in silence along a winding forest path. According to the directions he got from An Ci Nunnery, this path led to an endless mountain range. He was searching for the Ao Jing Sect, which was said to live among these mountains.
Ever since he had fully come to his senses at the Qingfeng Daoist Temple, he had always been surrounded by other people. Being on his own all of a sudden felt quite unfamiliar.
"It's so quiet," Li Huowang muttered to himself, glancing at the sparse trees around him. The further he walked, the more barren the land appeared.
The utter stillness of his surroundings gradually calmed his restless heart.
He raised both arms for a powerful stretch, sighed, and lifted his right foot to continue on his way.
He walked on, and before he knew it, the sky had turned dark. Li Huowang pulled a luminous stone from his robes and used its light to press on.
