"Hah... hah..." Drenched in sweat, Li Huowang braced his hands on his knees, gasping for breath.
He had been climbing for four hours and still hadn't arrived.
The nunnery was much higher than he'd imagined.
He struggled to lift his head, only to find that the winding dirt road seemed endless, stretching ever upward.
Biting his lip, Li Huowang grabbed a nearby vine and started climbing again.
When his legs were aching beyond belief from the climb, he finally saw the mountain gate of An Ci Nunnery.
Wiping the sweat from his chin with the back of his hand, Li Huowang instinctively looked at the couplets on either side of the gate.
To his great surprise, he couldn't make any sense of the couplets at all.
It wasn't that Li Huowang had forgotten how to read—thanks to Master Danyang—but rather, the characters themselves were bizarre.
