As Li Huowang saw those eyes, he felt a strange sensation. His thoughts seemed to slow, and everything around him turned uncanny. In that instant, it was as if he wasn't lying in the water, but floating in midair.
The silt on the lakebed began to churn. The muddied water surged upward, and with it ascended those seven grotesque, constantly writhing eyes.
When the mud completely engulfed Li Huowang's body, he saw a hideous, rotting maw larger than a mountain, and from the depths of its gaping throat crawled countless black, barbed tendrils.
"No... I can't... let it end... like this..." Li Huowang summoned all his strength and drew the longsword from his back.
Just as he stood up to plunge it into his own neck, the tentacles instantly lashed out, wrapping around him. Their sharp barbs dug deep into Li Huowang's flesh, yanking him savagely into that bloody maw.
