8 months had passed since Alaric came back to Ooze Village with his new spies. Or, now it was Ooze Town. Actually, Alaric expected to have to wait a year before putting up a sign with the word "town" on it.
But, an unexpected variable came into play.
'I can't believe Malcolm, the one I suspected to have the least amount of potential, has contributed the most...' Alaric thought.
Malcolm, full of aspirations, brought together a large group of homeless to contribute to his information-gathering duties. Although he didn't know exactly why Malcolm worked so hard, Alaric did know that Malcolm wasn't loyal to him. The boy wanted rewards.
And rewards Alaric would deliver. The intel brought by Malcolm was simply too useful. Movements made by White Bridge were the movements of an experienced governor, merchants exiting White Bridge could be intercepted by Ooze Town, and he had even spread the word to the people of White Bridge that there was a sanctuary called Ooze Town!
