As the men climbed up the ladder, Anna was surprised to find that their skin wasn't the same charcoal-black as her employer's; they were a group of white men.

Laughter preceded his arrival. Big Beard roared with laughter as he came forward and lifted Anna's employer clean off his feet, the two of them enthusiastically slapping each other's shoulders.
