Anna used all her strength to reach her hand, engulfed in green flames, toward Daniel's neck.
He scrambled to lean back, and the flames, capable of incinerating anything, nearly singed the fine hairs on his skin. When the flames on Anna's hand condensed into a ball and lunged toward him, Daniel backflipped in midair, swallowing them directly through the cracked doorway in his chest.
Without warning, a rivet in the floor near Anna's foot suddenly shot out, leaving a blur as it flew toward her straight shin. The rivet was incredibly fast; if it hit, its impact would be no less than a bullet's. Just as the rivet was about to hit her shin, a translucent crystal sprouted from her flesh and collided with it, producing a crisp sound.
After the brief, fierce exchange, the two faced off again, breathing heavily.
