When she saw that Charles had actually been found, Anna stood up involuntarily, her eyes glued to the computer screen.
The video on the screen was still playing. The person filming spoke, the camera wobbling slightly as he did. "Hey kid, why are you eating noodles inside a dumpster?"
Charles shyly wiped the dirt off his face with the hand holding his chopsticks. "Because if I cook out in the open, they'll always reach over and take some of my noodles. That way, I never get enough to eat."
"Who are 'they'?"
"People like me, living on the streets. But they're all older than me. I'm the youngest."
"Why are you wandering the streets? Where's your family?"
Hearing this question, the smile on Charles's face gradually faded. But after just a second, it returned, as bright as ever. "Heh, they're all dead."
The video stopped abruptly, the replay icon appearing over Charles's face.
