It has been three months since she came to this mansion and although she was treated like a rare treasure, she felt trapped. She barely knows anyone here and is not allowed to leave without permission.
Her only companion is the maid assigned to watch over her. Her name is Nina. Sasha does comes to visit her but she can't bring herself to like her. Something about her instinctively makes her want to stay away.
She can only call her family occasionally to check up on them and take a stroll around the estate.
This place to her was no different from a paradise. She has been here for quite some time but the mission she's tasked with has not been fulfilled giving her sleepless nights.
It was a sunny and bright afternoon, Reina was taking a stroll with Nina when they passed by the pool. Sasha and her friend Malia wearing bikini were sunbathing, enjoying the view.
"Who's that?" Malia asked.
Sasha smiled,"That's the woman hired to be a surrogate mother for my baby. Once this baby is born, Harry will be mine forever." She haughtily replied.
"Low life like them are greedy for money and power. With a face like that, you better make sure that she doesn't seduce your man". uttered Malia.
Sasha's expression twisted as she stares maliciously at Reina,"If she dares go near Harry, I'll tear her to pieces." Malia laughed.
Reina and Luna arrived at the artificial lake. A villa was situated at the other end. She hasn't seen that before. Curious, she asked,"Luna what is that?".
"That is the residence of the heir and his sister. No one is allowed to go there without permission". Luna explained.
"Doesn't he stay in the big mansion with his wife?"Reina asked.
Luna shook her head," The heir and his wife are not really that close like other couple. Theirs was an arranged marriage. The heir has no love for the young madame at all". Luna whispered to her.
At the main house, Lady Mina gently massage Old madame's legs." What should we do now?. Am I cursed to lose at the end?" Old madame lamented.
"The old man is determined to recognize Jacob as his son. I can't let that happen"."Old madame, you can't let that happen. If that happens, it'll cause unrest in the company. We can't have those shareholders having options" Lady Mina spoke, clearly worried.
"If only that girl had gotten pregnant, half of my worries will be gone"Old madame sighed.
"Have Old madame thought of offering the young lady to the heir. Let them procreate through the natural process. Chances of her getting pregnant will be higher than waiting for a few more months to try another procedure" Lady Mina suggested.
"But do you think Harry will agree to do such things with that girl? Have you not seen his relationship with his wife. I don't think he'll agree to share his bed with a lowly girl". replied Old madame.
"He doesn't have a choice. After all we're doing all of this for his own good".said Lady Mina.
The two discussed about sending Reina to Harry's bed as a matter of factly without considering if Reina will agree with their arrangements. The relationship between old madame and Lady Mina is more deeper than that of a servant and master relationship. Lady Mina is the daughter of Old madame's Nanny and was her playmate.
They grew up together and share a sisterly bond. Even after she married into the Zelkowicz family, Lady Mina followed her and had shared her joy and sorrows together.
That evening, Reina is summoned by old madame to tell her about her plans to send her to her grandson's bed much to her shock. She vehemently opposed the idea but the Old madame isn't going to let her go against her wishes.
She calmly told her about a clause in the contract that clearly states that she will do whatever it takes to provide a child for the Zelkowicz family. Failure to do so is a breach of contract and must pay them four times the amount of money given to her. Reina felt cold all over her body.
Back then she was so desperate that she didn't read through those papers clearly and signed them. She was walked back to her room in despair and cried. She doesn't want to sleep with a stranger. A man she doesn't know. She's still a young lady with dreams of finding her prince charming and living a fairytale like love story with him.
After telling Nina what happened, the latter comforted her endlessly. She and Reina has bonded together over the months and she doesn't look down on her for selling her womb to for money. She has been an orphan girl and grew up in the estate as her uncle is the butler. She didn't get along with the other maids who likes to bully and take advantage of her kind nature but Reina is different.
" Miss shouldn't cry too much. The heir... he is really not a bad person. He is normally very cold and indifferent towards everyone but he is not bad. I'm sure if you meet him, you'll surely like him",said Luna.
Reina hugged the pillow and curled up in bed, she won't like anyone else because she already has someone in her heart. The image of that tall and handsome man who hugged her and told her that everything will be fine appeared in her mind. Her tears flow harder. She wanted that man and no one else. Only he can make her heart skipped a beat.
In a stylish condo, Darwin was leisurely sipping wine while on a conference call with Harry.
"Are you in a hurry to come back? Strange how love can make a workholic like you to feel so distracted and helpless. That feeling called love sure is scary".He mocked.
Nonchalant about being teased, Harry asked with a cold face,"Is everything going according to plan?. You can not make any mistake".
"Relax man. Everything is under my control. Rest assured that without you holding that beauty in your arms, she'll never get pregnant". Darwin laughed.
"You had better hurry up and return. Your little sweetheart is in the lion's den. The Old madame is not please that she has not produce a good news yet and compared to your beautiful wife's tactics, your little beauty doesn't stand a chance. For now she's safe".said Darwin.
Harry's stoic expression cracked a little. When it comes to Reina, he's a different person altogether. "I'll be returning back in three days time".He declared.
"Oh one more thing. From my reliable sources, it seems your uncle dearest can't wait anymore. He has started to show his hand. You should be more alert".Darwin spoke with a serious expression.
Harry nodded in agreement and went off without warning. "Hey, you're so heartless. How could you abandon me as soon as you no longer need me".Darwin grumbled.
He and Harry had been friends since junior high. In the beginning, his friend was just like any other teenager. Mischievous and happy until that fatal accident which claimed the life of his parents.
He became withdrawn and burdened with the responsibility of being the successor to such a huge corporation, he slowly turned into this cold and unapproachable man of today.
Darwin sworn to never change and continue to be the reckless and happy-go-lucky one and has taken it upon himself to cheer his friend on.
Somewhere in the city, a young man on the floor is ruthlessly being kicked by a fatty man." You're so useless. It been three months already. Why haven't you found my little kitty. Good for nothing". Mr Smith spoke angrily as he continued to kick his minion.
The man just curled himself up while begging for mercy. Even though the Lyle family has paid off their debt, Mr Smith is still insistent on marrying Reina at all cost. Initially he was planning to kidnap her and force her to marry but she disappeared before he could follow through with his plan. The Lyle family is very defensive towards him and won't tell him a thing about Reina's whereabouts leaving him frustrated and upset.
