Lyle was in a state of shock for the next couple of days. His father had locked himself in his chambers, unable to cope with the memories that were now back to him.
He had seen the Empress several times, and she was nice to him, treating him just how an aunt would treat a nephew.
Of course, things couldn't stay calm for long. The Aegar family had sent a delegation to the Empire, demanding he be brought to them.
They didn't even care if things escalated, believing their powers to be enough to ward off the Empire. They didn't know that the entire reason they existed was simply because the Empress believed their cause to be somewhat just, and the bloodshed that would be brought to be far too heavy for the Empire.
Lyle acted. The delegation that arrived was the same group that had been chasing and trying to kill Lyle and his group for months now. In his rage, Lyle killed them all, his current strength eclipsing theirs.
